We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network/Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in managing and securing complex network environments. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in a wide range of security technologies and platforms, including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, IPSec, SSL VPN, GCP/Azure Load Balancers.
Responsibilities
- Firewall Expertise: The candidate must have strong expertise in managing and configuring Firewalls, particularly with Checkpoint and Palo Alto platforms. Experience with other Firewalls such as Cisco and Fortinet is a plus. Responsibilities include handling security concepts, rule management, NAT, high availability setup, packet capture, and log analysis using command-line interfaces and management consoles like CSM/Smart Console.
- IPS and WAF: Knowledge and understanding of Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Web Application Firewalls (WAF) are crucial for identifying and mitigating potential security threats.
- Cloud Security: Hands-on experience with GCP and/or Azure is essential, including proficiency in configuring routing, firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools in cloud environments.
- VPN Management: Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting various VPN technologies, including IPsec, SSL VPN, Site-to-Site VPN (IPSEC/GETVPN/GRE/MGRE), and end-user remote access VPNs.
- Load Balancers: Experience with GCP Load Balancers to ensure seamless distribution of network traffic and high availability.
- Incident and Change Management: Familiarity with Incident, Change, Problem, Service Request, and Configuration Management processes to maintain a well-structured and controlled network environment.
- Troubleshooting: The candidate should be adept at identifying and resolving high-priority issues related to Firewalls, Load Balancers, IPS/IDS, and Proxies. Troubleshooting LAN, WAN, and WLAN issues is an added advantage.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with hardware vendors and Technical Assistance Centers (TAC) to resolve software and hardware-related issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Documentation: Thoroughly document root cause analyses for problem tickets, maintain pre and post-implementation logs, and create change scripts. Keep network diagrams updated.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of proven experience as a Network/Security Engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto), IPSec, SSL VPN, GCP Load Balancers.
- Strong understanding of network security concepts and protocols.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network-related issues.
- Familiarity with incident, change, problem, and configuration management processes.
- Hands-on experience with GCP routing, firewall, IDS, and other security tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, GCP Networking or equivalent are a plus.
