Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an senior Network Engineer to manage a 24/7 SaaS production network and drive scalable IaC-driven automation. You will design CI/CD pipelines for testing, automate network configurations, and implement GitOps workflows across multi-region environments.

You will lead the deployment of VXLAN, OVN, and Calico, and work closely with SRE and Platform teams to ensure secure, resilient networking. CCIE is highly valued; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in Network Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
Deep focus on large-scale network design, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
Expert proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, and Python, including Netmiko, Nornir, or NAPALM.
Expertise with software-defined networks and overlays, specifically VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico.
Advanced mastery of Kubernetes networking, including CNIs, Ingress controllers, Service Mesh, and Kube-Proxy.

Job description

Operate IP networking components in a 24/7 SaaS production environment
Design and oversee scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, digital-twin dry runs, and zero-downtime network configuration deployments
Establish enterprise-wide Network-as-Code and GitOps workflows using Git as the source of truth
Develop reusable automation frameworks and playbooks to eliminate manual network configuration
Design and optimize large-scale SDN and container networking across multi-region cloud and bare-metal environments
Serve as Tier 4 technical authority for complex network, routing, and overlay issues
Implement telemetry, monitoring, alerting-as-code, and proactive auto-remediation platforms
Partner with Enterprise Designers, SRE leaders, and Platform teams on resilient, secure, multi-tenant network infrastructure
Write and review IaC using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Python, and Bash
Lead deployment and optimization of VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico
Automate firewall and load‑balancer security and traffic‑management policies
Embed security validation gates into CI/CD pipelines
Build automated network validation suites for routing and network health
Drive code‑based infrastructure definitions and dynamic technical documentation

Requirements

8+ years of progressive experience in Network Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles
Deep focus on large‑scale network design, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Expert proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, and Python, including Netmiko, Nornir, or NAPALM
Expertise with software‑defined networks and overlays, specifically VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico
Advanced mastery of Kubernetes networking, including CNIs, Ingress controllers, Service Mesh, and Kube‑Proxy
Expert experience with Cisco Nexus, Arista, Versa SD‑WAN, Palo Alto, and Fortinet
Knowledge of API‑driven application delivery and load balancing, including F5 BIG‑IP AS3, Cloudflare APIs, and Octavia LBaaS
Deep Linux internals and networking expertise, including network namespaces, virtual interfaces, eBPF/iptables, and kernel‑level routing
CCIE‑level or equivalent mastery of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and EVPN
Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, and infrastructure TDD
Advanced packet analysis using tcpdump/Wireshark, NetFlow, and log aggregation platforms
Proven technical leadership, mentoring, design reviews, and cross‑functional initiatives
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Telecommunications background in VoIP, RTP, SIP peering/trunking, and SBC is highly advantageous
