Flextronics in Chennai, India is seeking a Senior Network Administrator - IT (L2) to support our manufacturing and corporate networks. You will join a global IT team and manage complex WAN/LAN environments, security, and network services to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with Cisco IOS XE, routers, switches, VPN/DMVPN, QoS, SNMP, NetFlow, and trouble-shooting production outages.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience.
• 5+ years WAN experience; L2 Network Support preferred.
• Proficient with TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, IPsec, VPN/DMVPN, MPLS, QoS, VLANs, STP, VTP, VoIP, WLAN, DNS, DHCP, ARP, SNMP, NetFlow, Cisco vPC, FCoE, Fabric Path.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Network Administrator - IT (L2) located in Chennai, India. Reporting to the Senior Manager & the role involves

What a typical day looks like:

• Strong technical expertise in areas such as Routing, Switching, Security and Traffic Optimization.
• Technical expert with sharp skills in technologies such as Dynamic Routing Protocols, LAN switches, Wireless LAN technologies, Firewall configuration, SSL & IPSec VPN/DMVPN configuration, Cisco WAAS/vWAAS, AppNav Controllers, Performance Routing (PFRv3), cisco AVC.
• Experience working with Network QOS.
• In-depth experience/operational knowledge working with SNMP, NetFlow, and Network Tools.
• Good knowledge and working experience on ISR & ASR with IOS XE platform.
• Experience in handling complex production issues, major outages, root cause analysis (RCA) and excellent diagnostic, problem solving skills.
• Effective communication with high degree of escalation management.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Any graduate or post graduate 8+Years of IT experience.
• 5+ years of experience in WAN alone, 5 to 7 years is more preferred L2 Network Support.
• Technologies/Protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, IPsec, VPN/DMVPN, MPLS. QoS, Multicast, dot1q, STP, VLANS, VTP, HSRP, VoIP, WLAN, DNS, DHCP, ARP, SNMP, NetFlow, Cisco vPC, FCoE, Cisco Fabric Path etc.

Products:

• Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco Routers (ISR & ASR with IOS XE platform), Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco WAN Accelerators, F5 load-balancers, Cisco ASAs, Cisco & Aruba WLAN products, Packet analysis and debugging abilities using a variety of tools (e.g. Ethereal/Wireshark, tcp dump, etc.)

Optional Skills:

• Proficient knowledge in scripting (Linux/Unix Shell scripts / Python / Ruby, etc,) and Hands-on experience in Configuration Management and Deployment tools (Chef / Puppet / Ansible / Terraform, etc.)
• Good knowledge in CI/CD tools (Jenkins / TeamCity / Bamboo / Travis CI, etc,) and building CI/CD pipelines good knowledge in GIT (GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket) or SCM tools (SVN, TFS, etc.)
• Ready to work in shifts 24x7 support.
• Cisco certification is preferred CCNA, CCNP/CCDP (Routing & Switching), CCIE.
