Job summary

MRI Software India is seeking an experienced MS-SQL DBA to join our Bengaluru team. The role requires 6–9 years of hands-on experience in managing, maintaining, and optimizing MS-SQL environments, with strong expertise in Azure cloud, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities include administering SQL Server instances, implementing high availability solutions, and leveraging PowerShell and Azure tools for automation and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Azure cloud and MS-SQL DBA.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience in backup, disaster recovery, replication, and high availability.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and Azure automation for operational tasks.

MS-SQL DBA Job Description

We are looking for an experienced MS-SQL DBA with 6-9 years of hands‑on experience in managing, maintaining, and optimizing MS‑SQL DBA environments.

The candidate should have strong expertise in database installation, configuration, backup & recovery, performance tuning, patching, and high availability solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with 7+ years of experience in Azure cloud and MS‑SQL DBA
• Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, including query optimization, execution plans, wait statistics, blocking, deadlocks, CPU/memory/I/O troubleshooting, indexing, and statistics.
• Experience in MS‑SQL database backup, disaster recovery planning, Replication, Cluster, Always‑On Availability, SSIS/SSRS, performance optimization and data security.
• Strong experience in Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of integrating PowerShell with SQL Server, Azure CLI/Az PowerShell modules, Azure Automation, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics for operational automation and monitoring.
• Strong T‑SQL scripting and development skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views, CTEs, dynamic SQL, cursors, temp tables, troubleshooting scripts, performance analysis scripts, and automated DBA health‑check scripts.
• Works independently and as a team member in a high-performance 24/7 availability environment.
• Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or relevant work experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
