Candidates with experience in Appium using JavaScript or TypeScript are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain automation frameworks for native, hybrid apps for iOS and Android, along with mobile browser testing
- Write clean, reusable test scripts using Appium or equivalent tools, following agreed design patterns
- Automate mobile specific scenarios such as gestures, deep links, push notifications, app permissions, background and foreground states, and poor network conditions
- Run tests on real devices, emulators and cloud device farms to cover different OS versions and screen sizes
- Integrate mobile suites into CI/CD pipelines, including APK and IPA builds, and keep execution stable across environments
- Validate journeys that span mobile and web, with API and database checks to confirm data integrity
- Use AI-assisted tools and LLMs to speed up test creation and improve coverage
- Investigate failures, reduce flakiness, and support release testing including regression, compatibility and accessibility
- Support junior engineers and manual testers moving into automation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- 3 to 6 years of QA automation experience, with at least 2.5 years on native/hybrid mobile apps
- Strong hands-on experience with Appium or equivalent tools such as XCUITest, Espresso, Detox or Maestro
- Working knowledge of Android Studio, Xcode, adb, emulators and simulators
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Java. Preferably JS or TS.
- Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured or Axios
- Experience running tests in CI/CD such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI, with Git and PR-based workflows
- Solid grasp of test design techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning and exploratory testing
- Awareness of AI-assisted test automation, such as prompt-based test generation or using LLMs in test workflows
