Job summary

Whirlpool is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer in Pune to lead delivery, utilities support and maintenance for production lines. You will drive planned maintenance, plant shutdowns, new machine commissioning, and cost-control initiatives while mentoring the team and coordinating with process and project groups.

Strong hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC/drives skills are essential. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in maintenance, a mechanical engineering background, and demonstrated ability to

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical engineering.
• Experience in maintenance and production support.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC/drives and maintenance management.

Responsibilities

• Delivery: provide maintenance and utilities support to production to ensure minimum downtime and meet quality, cost and delivery goals.
• Drive planned maintenance activities including plant shutdowns and major maintenance.
• Investigate and resolve technical problems to drive improvements.
• New machine installation and commissioning.
• Gain knowledge of latest machines/technologies and train the team.
• Cost: ensure safety compliance and upgrade equipment to reduce costs.
• Prepare RM budget and monitor costs; drive energy cost optimization.
• WCM: lead energy pillar, drive cost savings through opex projects.
• Utilities Management: manage generators, compressors, chillers, and other equipment.

Role & responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delivery
• provide maintenance and utilities support to production to ensure minimum downtime so the quality, cost and delivery goals are met.
• Drive & support in implementing PM (planned maintenance ) activities including plant shutdown and large scale/specialized maintenance activities.
• Investigate and resolve technical and operational problems to drive incremental improvements.
• New machine installation & commissioning
• Gain knowledge on the latest machine / technologies and train his team accordingly.
• Cost
• Ensure safety compliance on equipment thru LOTO & PPE
• Upgrade obsolete and old equipment - Identify new technology and accordingly upgrade equipments
• Prepares R&M ( repairs & maintenance ) budget and further monitoring & control.
• Cost control of power & fuel
• Should be able to drive WCM - Energy pillar to get cost saving through conservation & optimization
• Upgradation & localization of spare parts to reduce the repairs & maintenance cost.
• Interacts with manufacturing engineering to provide support for execution of projects related to large scale improvements
• Interacts with production to provide support to ensure stabilization of new product manufacturing
