Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC to deliver projects with a focus on design basis, thermal load calculations, and room-by-room air system design. You will use Carrier HAP for calculations, ensure ASHRAE standards and NBC guidelines are met, and coordinate with Civil, Piping, Electrical, and Safety teams to maintain clash-free models.

• Exclusive knowledge of ASHRAE Fundamentals / Standards & NBC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design basis (room design conditions, building-wise HVAC system description).
• Perform thermal load and ventilation calculations.
• Design air systems: room-wise air flowrates and fan static pressure calculations (ASHRAE).
• Duct sizing for room and branch networks (ASHRAE/SMACNA).
• Conduct utilities calculations (power, chilled water flow, other needs).
• Create equipment data sheets for HVAC procurement (AHU, PAC, air washer, FCU, Hi-wall unit).
• Ensure clash-free 3D model coordination with Civil, Architecture, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation & Safety teams.
• Assist for space utilization meetings, HVAC room size estimation, adequacy checks for existing installations.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Prepare Design basis (Room Design conditions, Building wise HVAC System description and material description for each HVAC equipment).


• Thermal Load and Ventilation Calculations (using a specialized HVAC Software – Carrier HAP E20II).


• Air system design – Room wise Air Flowrates & Fan Static pressure calculations using ASHRAE Standards.


• Ducting design – Room wise and branch sizing using ASHRAE / SMACNA Standards.


• Utilities calculations (Power consumption, Chilled water flowrate calculations & Other Utility requirements).


• Equipment data sheets for procurement of HVAC equipment viz. (a) AHU (b) PAC (c) Air washer (d) FCU (e) Hi-wall unit & TBE preparation.


• Ensure clash free 3D model.


• Co-ordination with Civil, Architecture, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and Safety Teams.


• Participate for space utilization meeting, Estimation of HVAC room size, Adequacy check for existing HVAC installation, Layout Study etc.
