Flowserve India Controls Pvt Ltd. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on pump design to drive advanced 2D/3D detailing for centrifugal pumps and ensure compliance with API 610.

You will mentor junior designers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and customer specs. The role requires 7–10 years in pump design, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD), and solid GD&T knowledge, with experience in BOM control and PLM/ERP (Windchill/Oracle).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in pump design, API 610 familiarity.
• Proficient CAD skills: SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of detailed 2D and 3D pump designs for complete assemblies and components.
• Ensure all designs meet API 610, customer specs, and internal quality standards.
• Review drawings prepared by junior designers or vendors and verify BOMs with material specs and revision control.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams during design handovers.
• Support ECRs/ECNs and drawing updates.
• Mentor junior designers and drafters in design best practices.
• Participate in design reviews and drive drawing process improvements.
• Analyze test results and validate against design curves and specs.
• Prepare detailed test reports and support customer witness testing.
• Assist in root cause analysis for test failures and suggest corrective actions.

Senior Mechanical Engineer - Pump Design Summary: The Pump mechanical Engineer is responsible for the advanced design and detailing of centrifugal pumps in compliance with API 610 standards. This role includes leading design activities, checking drawings, mentoring junior designers, and coordinating with cross-functional teams for timely project execution and performance testing of centrifugal pumps, validating that product meets design and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of detailed 2D and 3D designs for complete pump assemblies and components (casing, impeller, shaft, seal housing, etc.)
• Ensure all designs meet API 610, customer specifications, and internal quality standards
• Review and check drawings prepared by junior designers or external vendors -Generate and validate BOMs with material specs, part codes, and revision control
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams during design handovers
• Support Engineering Change Requests and change (ECR and ECNs) and drawing updates
• Mentor and guide junior designers and drafters in design best practices and standards
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of drawing processes
• Analyze test results and validate against design curves and specs.
• Prepare detailed test reports and support customer witness testing.
• Assist in root cause analysis for test failures and suggest corrective actions.
• Coordinate with design and quality teams for validation signoffs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 7-10 years of experience in pump design, with significant experience in API 610 centrifugal pumps and ANSI/ISO, NON-API pumps.
• Proficient in CAD tools such SolidWorks, Draft sight, AutoCAD
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, machining processes, casting design, and manufacturing constraints
• Familiar with PLM/ERP systems for document and BOM control (e.g., oracle and Windchill)
• Analyze test results and validate against design curves and specs. Provide resolutions.
