Job summary

Flowserve Corporation in Bengaluru, India seeks an Associate Engineer to design pump packages, components and layouts, and to prepare BOMs and technical documentation. You will generate 2D drawings and 3D models, ensure compliance with standards, and support cross‑functional teams across engineering and operations.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with 3+ years in pumps or rotating equipment, proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks) and knowledge of GD&T and major design standards

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in pumps or rotating equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and reports
  • Knowledge of ASME, API and DIN design standards and material specifications
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks
  • Familiar with GD&T (Basics & Advanced) and ANSI Y 14.5 drafting standards

Responsibilities

  • Design and engineering of pump packages, pump components, pump layouts and preparation of bill of material/project related technical documentation
  • Generate 2D detail drawings, complex 3D models and assemblies using CAD software
  • Check own and other team members’ design/drafting work for compliance with design and drafting standards
  • Drive engineering performance and ensure timely delivery to meet internal and external requirements

Job description

Position Summary

Associate Engineer is responsible for design and engineering of pump packages, pump components, pump layouts and preparation of bill of material/project related technical documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure product safety through proper review/design and worksite safety by championing FLS policies and procedures.
  • Perform work that is varied and complex, with minimal supervision.
  • Generate 2D detail drawings, complex 3D models and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Support end‑to‑end initiatives with specific operations and functional team initiatives that have interdependencies with engineering work.
  • Check own and other team members’ design/drafting work for compliance with design and drafting standards and fulfillment of engineering job requirements.
  • Drive strong engineering performance with respect to responsiveness, key indicators (OTD, KQI, utilization and efficiency).
  • Sustain and improve key indicators using CIP techniques.
  • Prepare engineering standards, procedures, checklists and learning points to minimize errors for all types of assignments for responsible business units.
  • Communicate effectively and build rapport with business units.
  • Enhance collaboration to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration between team engineers and supervisors.
  • Train design drafters within the team.
  • Lead or participate in standardization projects, create design document standards, and participate in preparing presentation materials as necessary.
Position Requirements
  • Graduate Engineer in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience in pumps or rotating equipment industry.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API and DIN design standards and material specifications.
  • Excellent ability to read and understand engineering drawings, documents and reports.
  • Proficient on 2D and 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar CAD tools).
  • Conversant with GD&T (Basics & Advanced) and drafting standard ANSI Y 14.5.
