Job summary

Diageo is seeking a Sr. Manager – SAP S4HANA Basis to lead the SAP Basis and cloud platform operations for the SAP S/4HANA Cloud landscape at the Bangalore HO.

You will oversee release management, security, compliance, and performance optimization while coordinating with global teams and external partners. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and experience in managing large-scale SAP deployments in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience 10+ years of SAP Basis administration experience.
• 5+ years managing SAP S/4HANA environments.
• 3+ years working with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and/or Private Cloud Edition.
• Experience leading SAP Basis teams and managing external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Manage SAP S/4HANA Cloud environments across Development, Test, Pre-Production, and Production landscapes.
• Act as primary owner of SAP Basis and technical platform operations; monitor health and capacity.
• Coordinate release testing, transport management, and change activities to minimize business disruption.
• Collaborate with SAP Security and GRC teams to ensure compliance with policies and audits.
• Define and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, SLAs, KPIs, and vendor performance metrics.

Job Description : Job Title Sr. Manager – SAP S4Hana Basis Location Bangalore HO Reporting To S4 Hana Program Manager Role Purpose The SAP Basis Manager is responsible for the overall administration, governance, performance, security, and operational excellence of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud landscape. The role ensures stable, secure, and efficient SAP platform operations while driving cloud adoption, system optimization, release management, integrations, and compliance with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards. The individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, infrastructure providers, SAP support teams, and external partners to ensure seamless delivery of SAP services and continuous improvement of the SAP ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Platform Management Manage and govern SAP S/4HANA Cloud environments across Development, Test, Pre-Production, and Production landscapes. Act as the primary owner of SAP Basis and technical platform operations. Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity utilization. Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and cloud operational standards. Coordinate with SAP support for incident resolution, service requests, and escalations.
• Release & Change Management Manage SAP S/4HANA Cloud quarterly release cycles. Assess release impacts and coordinate testing activities with business and functional teams. Plan and govern transport management processes. Lead change management activities ensuring minimal business disruption. Maintain release calendars and deployment schedules.
• Security & Compliance Collaborate with SAP Security and GRC teams to ensure compliance with corporate policies. Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) integrations. Ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR, internal controls, and audit requirements. Review system security configurations and vulnerability assessments. Support periodic audits and remediation activities.
• System Monitoring & Performance Optimization Establish proactive monitoring using SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager (where applicable), and enterprise monitoring tools. Identify performance bottlenecks and drive optimization initiatives.
• Integration & Technical Architecture Manage technical integrations involving: SAP BTP SAP Integration Suite SAP Ariba SAP SuccessFactors SAP Concur third-party applications Work with enterprise architecture teams to define integration and connectivity standards. Support API management and middleware operations.
• SAP Cloud Operations & Governance Define and maintain SAP operational procedures and runbooks. Manage SLAs, KPIs, and vendor performance metrics. Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness. Drive operational excellence through automation and process improvements. Maintain landscape documentation and technical architecture records.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management Manage SAP support partners and managed service providers. Review service delivery performance against contractual SLAs. Build strong relationships with business leaders and functional teams. Provide technical leadership for SAP platform strategy and roadmap initiatives.
• Team Leadership Lead and mentor Basis administrators, cloud platform specialists, and support teams. Define team objectives, performance measures, and development plans. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• SAP certifications in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Technology, or SAP BTP preferred.
• Experience 10+ years of SAP Basis administration experience.
• 5+ years managing SAP S/4HANA environments.
• 3+ years working with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and/or Private Cloud Edition.
• Experience leading SAP Basis teams and managing external service providers.
• Experience supporting global SAP deployments and large-scale enterprise environments.
