Job summary

Tata Motors Global Services Limited seeks an experienced Process Planning professional for the Engine - Machining (Cylinder Block & Head) domain. You will handle planning activities, layout design, process documentation, and simulations to enable manufacturing and assembly in line with Gen 3 deliverables.

Responsibilities include budget planning, resource allocation, and maintaining relations with stakeholders. 5–8 years in automotive CoC and process/layout planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plan for required facilities for the project and ensure to perform within target timeline & budget.
• Study previous project requirements and document inputs from seniors/stakeholders.
• Release of DMLs up to DR3 stage.
• Prepare Design for Assembly for in-house manufacturing assemblies.
• Conduct simulations with CAD/PLM teams for manufacturing processes.
• Create broad Bill of Process.
• Update PFD, PFMEA, CP, Process Sheets.
• Plan and prepare resources for facilities and logistics.
• Organise and complete Layout plans.
• Suggest plans to estimate and reduce work content.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for CFT activities.
• Oversee changes in project scope.
• Monitor input adequacy from upstream agencies.
• Prepare budget requirements and estimate Capital and Revenue budgets.
• Ensure cost/expenditure control.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and ensure quality standards.

Purpose of the Role

This role is responsible ensure completion of planning activities as required from the CoC - Engine - Machining area (Cylinder Block & Head) in terms of Gen 3 deliverable like Timeline and Capex by preparation of Layout, Design Bill of Process, Documentation PFD, PFMEA, Process Sheets, Simulations for Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly and Design data releases and Work content estimations.

Job Responsibility

1. Process Focus:

• Prepare plan for required facilities for the project and ensure to perform within target timeline & budget.
• Study TGR / TGW from previous projects, document and take proper inputs from seniors / stakeholders.
• Release of DMLs up to DR3 stage.
• Prepare "Design for Assembly for in-house mfg. assemblies.
• Conduct Simulations with help from CAD/PLM teams for manufacturing processes.
• Create broad Bill of Process.
• Ensure to prepare and timely update all process Documentation like PFD, PFMEA, CP, Process Sheets.
• Plan and prepare resource for facilities and logistics.
• Organise and complete Layout plans.
• Suggest plans to estimate and reduce work content.
• Take feedback from stake holders for CFT activities
• Oversee the changes in project scope
• Monitor and check the lack of clear inputs from upstream agencies

2. Finance Management:

• Ensure to prepare budget requirements.
• Responsible for estimation of Capital and Revenue budgets for various projects.
• Ensure cost/ expenditure control.

3. Relationship development:

• Develop and maintain good relationships with the stakeholders to ensure smooth work processes and achieve optimal performance.
• Prepare and deploy quality standards required in the project thro obtaining appropriate inputs and support from other stake holders.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor in Engineering
• Relevant Experience: 5 - 8 years
• Experience working with automobile industry with preferred exposure in CoC area
• Having knowledge of Process and Layout planning.
