Job summary

Physicswallah seeks an experienced Transport Manager to oversee central transportation operations for schools from its Noida base. You will manage end-to-end transport functions, ensure safety, compliance, and cost-efficiency across multiple school locations.

You will lead route planning, vendor management, and MIS dashboards, and drive standardized policies while coordinating with Principals, Admin, Finance, and other central teams. Travel to school sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation or post-graduation in relevant field.
• 8–12 years of experience in transport or fleet management.
• Experience across multiple locations/sites is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle compliance and transport safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end transportation operations for schools from the central Noida team.
• Develop and implement standardized transport policies, SOPs, and processes across all schools.
• Oversee school bus operations, routes, fleet utilization, and transportation schedules.
• Manage transport vendors, bus operators, drivers, attendants, and other transport staff.
• Monitor route planning, route optimization, vehicle utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (RTO, MV Act, school transport, safety).
• Establish and monitor safety standards, including vehicle fitness, GPS, CCTV, first-aid, and driver compliance.
• Track vehicle maintenance, servicing, fitness certificates, insurance, permits, and documents.
• Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Develop MIS and dashboards for transport performance and compliance.
• Coordinate with Principals, School Operations, Admin, Finance, and other central teams.
• Handle transport-related escalations and resolve operational issues.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of transport operations.
• Implement GPS/route management solutions and emergency communication protocols.
• Build central transport governance across all 12 schools.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate with relevant experience in Transport, Fleet Management, Logistics, Facility Management, or Operations.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in school transport, education, fleet, logistics, or a multi-location organization.
• Experience managing transportation operations across multiple locations/sites is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle compliance, fleet operations, route planning, and transport safety.
• Experience in vendor and manpower management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable with MIS, Excel, dashboards, and transport management systems.
• Willingness to travel to school locations as required.
