Job summary

Blue Dart Express Limited, part of the DHL Group, seeks a Senior Manager Infrastructure Planning, Engineering & Automation to lead planning and governance of operational infrastructure. You will define long-term strategy, drive capacity planning and lead a team across branches, warehouses and service centres.

Ideal candidates have 15–20 years in planning and engineering roles within logistics, with expertise in automation, facility design and capital investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 15–20 years of progressive leadership in planning roles.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing or large-scale distribution.
• Exposure to automation and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern long-term infrastructure strategy aligned to growth.

Blue Dart Express Limited, part of the DHL Group, is looking for an experienced Senior Manager Infrastructure Planning, Engineering & Automation to lead the planning and governance of operational infrastructure across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and govern the long-term operational infrastructure strategy aligned with business growth and network requirements.
• Lead capacity planning, facility sizing, utilisation and infrastructure optimisation across branches, hubs, warehouses, processing centres, service centres and PUD facilities.
• Evaluate Business Case Approvals (BCAs) and provide operational recommendations for major infrastructure investments.
• Establish and govern facility engineering, layout and operational design standards.
• Drive automation and mechanisation initiatives including material handling, sortation, scanning and digital operational workflows.
• Lead infrastructure lifecycle planning, including expansion, consolidation, relocation and redesign.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Real Estate, Procurement, Projects, Safety, Security and Technology teams.
• Lead enterprise-wide continuous improvement, operational excellence and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
• Build and develop the Operations Planning, Automation & Efficiency team.

What are we looking for

• 15 to 20 years of progressive leadership experience in Operations Planning, Infrastructure Planning, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Facility Planning or Supply Chain Operations.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, e-commerce, warehousing or large-scale distribution environments.
• Strong expertise in capacity planning, facility utilisation, workflow design and infrastructure optimisation.
• Proven experience in BCA evaluation, capital investment planning and infrastructure expansion projects.
• Experience evaluating engineering layouts, facility drawings and operational process flows.
• Exposure to automation, mechanisation and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or Logistics is mandatory.
• MBA/Masters in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering Management or Business Administration preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP or Operations Excellence certification will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, Power BI and planning/analytics tools is preferred.
