Job Description
The Salesforce Implementation Manager is a strategic leadershiprole responsible for overseeing a portfolio of Salesforce projects and theprofessional development of the implementation team. This role bridges the gap between executive strategy and technical execution, ensuring that allSalesforce initiatives are delivered with high quality, remain profitable (orwithin budget), and achieve long-term business value. The Manager focuses onprocess optimization, resource allocation, and maintaining senior-levelstakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Oversight: Manage multiple concurrentSalesforce implementations, ensuring they meet organizational standards, budgetconstraints, and delivery timelines.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and conductperformance reviews for Implementation Leads and Administrators. Foster aculture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Strategic Road mapping: Collaborate with seniorleadership to align Salesforce initiatives with the broader company vision andlong-term digital transformation goals.
- Solution design oversight: Collaborate with Salesforce architects and developers and ensure the solution aligns with business needs and best practices.
Review configurations like objects, workflows, flows, and integrations.
- Project Governance: Define and enforce implementationmethodologies (Agile/Scrum), documentation standards, and QA protocols acrossall projects.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management :Act as a point of escalation for project risks. Manage relationships withexternal Salesforce partners and third-party vendors to ensure accountability.
- Resource Planning: Forecast staffing needs andallocate technical resources across projects to maximize efficiency and preventburnout.
- Change Management Strategy: Lead the organizational changemanagement (OCM) strategy to ensure high user adoption and ROI post-deployment.
- Process Optimization: Continuously audit and improvethe implementation lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery to post-launch support.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in the Salesforce ecosystem, with at least 3–5 years ina formal leadership or people management role.
- Certifications: Salesforce Administrator and Salesforce Consultant (Sales, Service, orExperience Cloud) certifications are required. Project Management Professional(PMP) or Agile (CSM) certifications are highly preferred.
- Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems into multi-yeartechnical roadmaps.
- Technical Breadth: Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, including multi-org strategies,complex integrations (MuleSoft/Zapper), and DevOps cycles.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing technical teams, resolving internal conflicts,and developing talent.
- Communication: Exceptional executive-level communication skills, with the ability to presentcomplex data and project health metrics to C-suite stakeholders.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced mastery of JIRA, Confluence, and Project Management software (e.g.,Asana, Smart sheet), alongside standard collaboration tools.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze project KPIs (velocity, budget burn, defect rates) tomake data-driven decisions.
