Job summary

F J Direct in India seeks a Senior Manager HV Engineering to lead our high-voltage engineering function, focusing on HV power supplies, transformer-rectifier sets, high-frequency converters, and LV control cabinets.

You will be the technical authority in India, drive product development, standardisation, knowledge transfer from global teams, and ensure on-time delivery for domestic and international customers.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/MTech in Electrical, Electronics or Power Electronics Engineering.
• 15+ years in power electronics/electrical power equipment engineering.
• Minimum 5 years leading an engineering team of 10+ members.
• Hands-on with rectifiers, high-frequency converters/power supplies, transformers and LV control/switching cabinets.
• Experience with MCC, PLC panels, ATS, switching, protection and interlocking.
• Experience with a global engineering organisation in a matrix environment.
• Strong IEC standards knowledge (IEC 61439, 60076, 60146).
• Familiar with EPLAN, CAD and Microsoft tools; macros/standard libraries desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis.
• Fluent English; Hindi/Marathi desirable.
• Willing to travel internationally/domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV engineering architecture, design decisions, deviations and risks.
• Design/review transformer-rectifier sets, high-frequency converters, power supplies, transformers, switchgear, busbars and filters.
• Own LV control & switching cabinets, MCC, PLC panels, ATS, control philosophy, I/O architecture, protection and interlocks.
• Review specifications and FAT of outsourced PLC/HMI software.
• Lead transfer of products and engineering activities from Global to India, including knowledge transfer.
• Build and develop a strong engineering competence pool with product ownership and development plans.
• Establish and maintain IEC/global engineering standards, EPLAN libraries, macros and design rules.
• Support enquiries through technical solutions, pre-bid discussions, costing and compliance.
• Own engineering KPIs including on-time release, first-time-right engineering and engineering hours/order.
• Lead root-cause analysis, NCR closure and corrective actions with Quality.
• Drive standardisation, value engineering, cost reduction and process improvement.
• Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Purchase, Production, Testing, Quality, After-Sales, Planning and Global Engineering.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Manager HV Engineering to lead our HV Engineering function in India, which serves as a group competence centre for high-voltage power supplies, transformer-rectifier sets, high-frequency power converters, and LV control & switching cabinets.

The role will act as the technical authority for HV Engineering in India, leading engineering excellence, product development/transfer, standardisation, team capability building and delivery of error-free engineering for both Indian and international customers.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Profile Must Have

• BE/BTech/MTech in Electrical, Electronics or Power Electronics Engineering.


• 15+ years of experience in power electronics/electrical power equipment engineering.


• Minimum 5 years of experience leading an engineering team of 10+ members.


• Strong hands-on experience in rectifiers, high-frequency converters/power supplies, transformers and LV control/switching cabinets.


• Experience with MCC, PLC panels, ATS, switching, protection and interlocking.
