Job summary

Your Job

Sr. Manager, High Power — Lead the PSBU CCS High Power engineering team to deliver new products, customer solutions, and sustaining support for the high-power connector portfolio. You will set technical direction, build team capability, drive innovation, and ensure programs align to BU strategic imperatives and deliver long-term value

Our Team

You will lead the High Power team in PSBU, CCS (Bangalore), partnering closely with Product Management, customers, plants, vendors, project management, technology teams, and external forums/labs. The team is focused on high-power connectivity solutions, with strong linkage to data center market needs and fast execution

What You Will Do
  • Drive new product strategy and execution by working with PMs, customers, and technology communities to create differentiated high-power solutions that win business.
  • Own sustaining engineering performance by ensuring fast, effective support for released products (queries, quick samples, issue resolution) to protect and grow revenue.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and PBM-based leadership, while scaling capability to meet roadmap needs.
  • Create a strong innovation culture by encouraging experimentation, continuous improvement, and the practical use of engineering tools (DFM/DFMEA/FEA/prototyping, etc.).
  • Anticipate customer and market needs (especially data center trends) and translate them into clear priorities, fast decisions, and timely program delivery.
  • Accelerate development through collaboration by aligning engineering with plant operations, cross-functional partners, and project management to meet committed schedules.
  • Enable validation and readiness by partnering with vendors, safety agencies, and labs to develop components and secure required testing/approvals.
  • Represent engineering externally through customer visits and technical engagements to ensure solutions fit real applications and feedback loops are tight.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15+ years in new product design and development, including 10+ years in high-power connector engineering.
  • 5+ years leading and developing a larger engineering team (people leadership, capability building, execution management).
  • Strong expertise in product development processes, engineering execution, and delivering to plan (scope/schedule/quality).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions and business outcomes.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience leading global/international teams and working across cultures/time zones.
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes, prototype tool development (mold/die/assembly), and design-for disciplines (DFM, DFMEA/PFMEA, DFR).
  • Strong experience with product testing/validation, working with external labs and safety agencies.
  • Proven capability in vendor development/assessment and supplier technical collaboration.
  • Familiarity with NX CAD, Teamcenter, and Polarion; comfort adopting modern approaches/tools (including AI-enabled engineering workflows).
  • Strong executive communication skills—clear storytelling, customer-facing credibility, and effective stakeholder management.
