Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Manager - Electrical Design to lead the electrical design for CNC machine tools and automation systems. You will define standards, architecture and best practices across product lines, and oversee schematics, panel layouts, cabling and BOMs.

You will mentor engineers, drive IEC/EN 60204-1 and ISO 13849 compliance, and manage projects, resources and deliverables while ensuring on-time performance and high engineering quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering required.
• 12-18 years of experience in machine tool electrical design or industrial automation.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and development of CNC machine tools and automation systems.
• Define electrical standards, architecture and best practices across product lines.
• Design and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable routing and BOMs.
• Lead selection and integration of CNCs, servo drives, spindle systems, sensors and safety devices.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager - Electrical Design to lead electrical design for CNC machine tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design and development of CNC machine tools and automation systems.
• Define electrical standards, architecture and best practices across product lines.
• Design and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable routing and BOMs.
• Lead selection and integration of CNCs, servo drives, spindle systems, sensors and safety devices.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/EN 60204-1, ISO 13849, CE and relevant standards.
• Manage project execution, resource planning, and engineering deliverables.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Mentor and develop electrical design engineers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• 12-18 years of experience in machine tool electrical design or industrial automation.

Technical Skills:

• FANUC, Siemens, Mitsubishi, NUM or equivalent CNC systems.
• PLC/PMC programming and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to EPLAN .
• Analytical capability to analyze and resolve issues of mechatronics in nature.
• PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP.
• Machine safety systems and EMC practices.
• Exposure in implementing Industry 4.0 spects of the machine
