Job summary

Symbiosis Management Consultants is seeking a Senior Manager – Costing & FP&A to lead costing, pricing, profitability analysis and FP&A for a manufacturing client. The role requires CMA qualification and hands-on expertise in standard costing, variance analysis and supplier costing.

You will partner with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain and Sales to drive cost competitiveness, implement budgeting processes and provide insightful management reporting. Location is Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Qualifications

• CMA / Cost & Management Accountant – Mandatory.
• Must have current/recent experience in a Manufacturing organisation.
• Strong hands-on experience in Standard Costing and Variance Analysis.
• Strong understanding of Product Costing and Manufacturing Cost Structures.
• Experience in Supplier Costing / Supplier Quote Evaluation.
• Good understanding of Pricing, Costing and Margin Analysis.
• Strong exposure to FP&A, Budgeting, Forecasting and MIS.
• Excellent understanding of material, labour, overhead and conversion costs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Exposure to ERP/SAP and advanced Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Standard Costing for products/components.
• Conduct detailed material, labour, overhead and conversion cost analysis.
• Perform monthly cost variance analysis and identify key drivers.
• Analyse Material Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, Labour Variance and Overhead Variance.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
• Work closely with Plant and Operations teams to improve cost competitiveness.
• Review and validate supplier quotations and cost break-ups.
• Analyse supplier costing, including RM, conversion cost, labour, overhead, tooling and other cost elements.
• Benchmark supplier costs and support supplier negotiations.
• Evaluate cost impact of changes in raw material prices, processes, volumes and specifications.
• Support Procurement in should-cost and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare product costing and pricing models.
• Analyse product profitability, contribution margins and customer-wise profitability.
• Support Sales/Business teams in pricing decisions and customer negotiations.
• Evaluate the financial impact of new products, price changes and cost escalations.
• Prepare cost-plus and target pricing analyses wherever required.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and periodic business planning.
• Prepare monthly MIS and management dashboards covering revenue, margins, costs and profitability.
• Analyse actuals vs. budget/forecast and provide actionable insights.
• Prepare P&L forecasts and profitability analysis.
• Develop financial models for business decisions, new projects and capacity expansion.
• Provide management with insights on cost, margin and business performance.
• Work closely with Plant, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales and Business teams.
• Support management in strategic decision-making through financial and commercial analysis.
• Drive data-based decision-making and identify opportunities for improving margins and operational efficiency.

Senior Manager Costing & FP&A

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Costing & FP&A from a manufacturing organisation, who can drive costing, pricing, profitability analysis, FP&A and management reporting.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Standard Costing, Variance Analysis, Product Costing, Supplier Costing, Pricing and Financial Planning & Analysis, with the ability to work closely with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales and Business teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Costing & Cost Control

• Develop and maintain Standard Costing for products/components.
• Conduct detailed material, labour, overhead and conversion cost analysis.
• Perform monthly cost variance analysis and identify key drivers.

Candidates from Automotive / Auto Components / Engineering / Industrial Manufacturing / Capital Equipment / Electrical & Electronics / Other Process or Discrete Manufacturing organisations would be preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a CMA‑qualified finance professional with strong manufacturing costing experience, rather than a purely accounting or FP&A professional.

Someone who has handled Costing + Pricing + Supplier Costing + Variance Analysis + FP&A and can act as a strong Finance Business Partner to Manufacturing and Business teams would be an ideal fit.

Compensation: Up to 35 LPA, depending on experience and suitability.
