Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank is seeking a Senior Manager / AVP - Finance (Cloud Finops) in Bengaluru. You will lead cloud budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization across multi-cloud environments, coordinating with finance, IT, and business units.

The role requires 6+ years in Cloud FinOps, strong data analytics, and experience with AWS/Azure pricing models. MBA (preferred) and a track record of cost savings are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Cloud FinOps / cloud spend optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations or Business Administration (preferred).
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure cloud offerings, their portfolios and commercial models.
• Understanding of core finance principles (forecasting, invoicing, procure-to-pay).
• Ability to structure, model and visualize cloud platform data for decision making.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly cloud budget and forecast across accounts, coordinating with accounting and technical owners.
• Support stakeholders in understanding cloud spend aligned to business roadmap and budgeted forecast.
• Monitor cloud consumption at account level, detect anomalies, escalate unplanned spikes.
• Analyze and report large datasets from cloud billing, data lake, CMDB, and asset inventories.
• Collaborate with Cost Optimization Engineers to track utilization and define cloud commitment plans.
• Design and maintain reports and KPIs showing detailed usage stats across multi-cloud landscape.
• Automate and mature Cloud FinOps processes and data; identify cost-saving opportunities.

Job Role

• Manage monthly cloud budget and forecast process in managing consumption and savings in collaboration with accounting, finance, and technical owners.
• Support stakeholders in understanding their cloud spend based on their business roadmap and budgeted forecast.
• Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, and **escalate** anomalies and unplanned spikes.
• Analyze, report, and produce meaningful insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools, data lake, CMDB, and other asset inventories as applicable.
• Collaborate with Cost Optimization Engineers to track resource utilization to define and execute relevant cloud commitment plans and to define strategies to re-purpose free capacity.
• Design, develop, and maintain reports and KPIs that provide detailed usage statistics of resources across the multi cloud landscape.
• Evaluate and investigate data patterns to derive insightful knowledge that can inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Participate in automating, integrating, and maturing the Cloud FinOps processes and data.
• Ability to understand problems, identify opportunities for improvement and provide solutions and innovative cost-cutting initiatives
• IT MIS preparation for IT department including Financial and Internal
• Assisting in preparing Cloud Budgets and tracking expenses against them
• Monthly Provisioning of cloud expenses, co-ordination with internal Finance team for timely PO, Invoicing and Payments.
• Coordinate with different business functions including IT department, Business verticals, PMO, Fincon, APPC team and to ensure corrective measures on financial MIS
• Good working knowledge in MS-Excel, Oracle, (MS Access and Macros additional advantage)
• Structuring of Processes and automation of manual activities

Job Requirement

• 6+ years of relevant experience in Cloud FinOps/Cloud Spend optimization.
• Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Administration (preferred).
• Good knowledge of public cloud players (AWS, Azure), their product portfolio and commercial models.
• Knowledge of the core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (forecast, invoicing, show back, accruals, procurement, etc.)
• Ability to properly structure, model and visualize cloud platform data to support decision making.
• Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to leaders.
• Aptitude to learn and understand new concepts and technologies to become an expert in the field.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to operate successfully in a lean, agile, and fast-paced organization.
• Possess a current FinOps certification, or ability to attain within 12 months.
