## Job Description# About the RoleThe Senior FinOps Analyst will support a multi-cloud environment used by Federal Bank across AWS, GCP, Azure, and other SaaS solutions. The role is focused on building and maintaining a highly optimized FinOps framework that improves resource utilization and cost control across cloud workloads.This position will take responsibility for shaping the Cloud FinOps function with a strategic view of pricing changes, regulatory expectations, technology shifts, market practices, and evolving business needs. It will work closely with accounting, finance, technical owners, engineering teams, IT, business verticals, PMO, and application build teams to improve cost visibility, governance, and financial reporting.The role also contributes to process improvement, automation, dashboarding, forecasting, and optimization initiatives that support cloud spend transparency and business decision-making.# Key Responsibilities– Manage the monthly cloud budget and forecast process in coordination with accounting, finance, and technical owners. – Help stakeholders understand cloud spend in the context of business roadmaps and budget forecasts. – Monitor cloud consumption at the account level and investigate anomalies or unexpected spend spikes. – Build reports, dashboards, and KPIs that provide visibility into cloud usage, spending, and optimization opportunities. – Analyze usage and spend patterns to support strategic and operational decisions. – Support the automation, integration, and maturity of Cloud FinOps processes and data. – Identify improvement opportunities and contribute cost-saving initiatives. – Prepare IT MIS reporting for the IT department, including financial and internal reporting. – Assist with cloud budget preparation and expense tracking. – Support monthly cloud expense provisioning, including coordination with internal Finance for PO, invoicing, and payment activities. – Work with IT, business teams, PMO, and application build teams to support corrective actions related to financial MIS. – Help structure processes and automate manual activities. – Create and support Cloud FinOps governance frameworks. – Contribute to unit economics and cost-to-serve reporting. – Partner with Finance to improve cloud cost transparency and reporting accuracy. – Work with engineering teams on rightsizing, storage optimization, commitment utilization, and waste reduction. – Track optimization recommendations through implementation and realization. – Monitor savings performance and report identified versus realized savings. – Support anomaly management and investigation of unexpected spend patterns. – Define and track cloud cost performance KPIs and benchmarks. – Support escalation of cost and risk issues beyond budget thresholds. – Develop cloud capacity and demand forecasts across services.# Required Skills– 8+ years of overall work experience. – 5+ years of experience as a Cloud FinOps Analyst. – 2+ years of experience leading FinOps and cloud engineering teams. – Proven experience setting up FinOps capabilities, tooling, governance frameworks, and operating processes in complex cloud environments. – Experience with cloud billing and cost management modules. – Strong knowledge of forecasting and organizational cost prediction. – Experience in reporting and maintaining financial cost data. – Strong stakeholder management and experience liaising with multiple business verticals. – Experience with automation and tooling for FinOps analytics. – Good knowledge of public cloud providers, including AWS, GCP, Azure, and Oracle, along with their product portfolios and commercial models. – Knowledge of core finance principles and a basic understanding of corporate accounting processes, including forecast, invoicing, showback, accruals, and procurement. – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience/certification/knowledge in cloud platforms with a leading CSP, or an MBA with a background in commercial management of cloud providers and services.# Cloud Platforms & Technologies## Cloud Providers – AWS – GCP – Azure – Oracle## Cloud / FinOps – Cloud billing and cost management modules – Cloud FinOps – FinOps analytics – Cost-to-serve reporting – Unit economics – Showback – Accruals – Procurement## Platform Types – IaaS – PaaS – SaaS# FinOps Responsibilities– Manage cloud budgets, forecasts, and savings across the multi-cloud landscape. – Improve cloud spend visibility, transparency, and reporting accuracy. – Monitor and investigate anomalies, unplanned spikes, and unexpected spend patterns. – Build and maintain governance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and reports for cloud financial management. – Support rightsizing, storage optimization, commitment utilization, and waste reduction initiatives. – Track optimization actions through implementation and measured savings realization. – Develop cost performance benchmarks and track performance against them. – Support cloud capacity and demand forecasting across services. – Contribute to cloud cost, risk, and budget-threshold escalation processes. – Coordinate cloud expense provisioning, PO handling, invoicing, and payment tracking with Finance.
