Job summary

Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a Senior Manager – Carpet Post-Production & Finishing in India. The role oversees washing, clipping, stretching, finishing, quality inspection and dispatch of hand-knotted carpets, driving timely delivery and strict quality standards.

You will implement process controls, develop SOPs, train teams and coordinate with production, quality and logistics to ensure seamless workflow and best-in-class finishing.

Qualifications

• Degree in textile technology or related field with hands-on finishing experience.
• 10+ years in textile finishing operations, preferably hand-knotted carpets.
• Strong leadership and ability to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end post-production activities including washing, clipping, stretching, finishing, and dispatch of hand-knotted carpets.
• Ensure consistent product quality, dimensions, pile finish and appearance via process controls.
• Analyze inspections and rework trends; implement corrective actions to reduce defects.
• Plan finishing schedules to ensure on-time delivery aligned with commitments.

Our client is looking for a Senior Manager – Carpet Finishing & Post-Production to oversee all post-weaving operations, ensure superior finishing quality, and drive timely dispatch of hand-knotted carpets while enhancing process efficiency and team capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end post-production activities including washing, clipping, stretching, finishing, quality inspection, and dispatch of hand-knotted carpets.
• Ensure consistency in product quality, dimensions, pile finish, and appearance through effective process controls and quality standards.
• Analyze inspection findings and rework trends, implementing corrective actions to improve first-pass quality and reduce defects.
• Plan and manage finishing schedules to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with production and customer commitments.
• Introduce and evaluate improved washing and finishing techniques to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
• Develop SOPs and conduct training programs to strengthen technical knowledge and finishing standards across teams.
• Monitor material and chemical consumption, ensuring cost-effective operations and compliance with environmental standards.
• Collaborate closely with production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure seamless workflow and dispatch readiness.
• Track operational performance metrics and maintain accurate records for continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in textile finishing operations, preferably within hand-knotted or handmade carpet manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of carpet washing, finishing techniques, quality grading, and inspection standards.
• Proven experience in reducing rework, improving finishing quality, and managing production teams.
• Knowledge of wool and blended fiber finishing processes is preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
