Job summary

HP AND ASSOCIATES in Mumbai seeks an experienced litigation lawyer to independently handle matters across civil, criminal, family, real estate, and banking law, representing clients before courts, tribunals, and government authorities.

The role requires strong drafting in English and Marathi, excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases with deadlines while mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• LLB and LLM from a recognized university.
• 69 years of relevant experience in litigation with exposure to non-litigation work.
• Strong drafting skills in English and Marathi.
• In-depth knowledge of civil, criminal, family, property, and banking laws.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle litigation matters across civil, criminal, family, real estate, banking, and related areas.
• Represent clients before courts, tribunals, quasi-judicial authorities, and government bodies.
• Draft, review, and vet legal documents (English & Marathi), including pleadings, written statements, affidavits, contracts, and notices.
• Conduct legal due diligence, title verification, and property search reports.
• Handle non-litigation work including documentation, advisory, and compliance.
• Provide legal opinions and strategic advice to clients.
• Coordinate with clients, advocates, banking authorities, and government departments.
• Manage case files, documentation, and ensure timely follow-ups and filings.
• Appear regularly in court and independently handle proceedings.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and interns.
• Stay updated with legal developments and regulatory changes.

• Criminal Law: Complaints, bail applications, trial proceedings

• Banking & Financial Matters: Recovery, SARFAESI matters.
