Job summary

EPAM Systems in India seeks Senior/Lead Solution Architect with deep Node.js expertise to design and deliver large-scale, high-performance solutions for global clients.

You will lead backend architecture, mentor teams, drive code quality, security, and performance across full stack, from pre-sales to go-live. Strong communication and client-facing skills are essential for successful delivery on cloud-native platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• 18-27 years of experience in IT with a strong background in solution architecture.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js, including deep understanding of the event loop, asynchronous programming, and module system.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs, and knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the architecture for backend services using Node.js and related frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, mentoring on best practices and design patterns.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce quality standards, and ensure maintainability, efficiency, and security of the codebase.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver full-stack solutions.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and ensure responsiveness.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, authentication, and data protection strategies.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the application stack, providing timely resolutions.

Responsibilities

Define and implement the architecture for backend services using Node.js and related frameworks, meeting architectural significant requirements (ASRs) Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, mentoring on best practices, code standards, and design patterns in a hands-on way, including peer programming with developers on the team Conduct code reviews, enforce quality standards, and ensure maintainability, efficiency, and security of the codebase Collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver full-stack solutions Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and ensure responsiveness Implement and enforce security best practices, authentication, and data protection strategies Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the application stack, providing timely resolutions Engage proactively in architecture discussions and take a leadership role in customer site assignments

Requirements

18-27 years of experience in IT, with a strong background in solution architecture Proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js, including deep understanding of the event loop, asynchronous programming, and module system Expertise in Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, along with familiarity with other relevant libraries Skills in designing and developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control best practices Background in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging tools Knowledge of security best practices, authentication methods such as OAuth and JWT, and data protection strategies Deep experience developing cloud native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address performance issues systematically Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English Experience mentoring and guiding developers on the team
