Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Security Engineer to join our security team in Bengaluru. The role involves configuring and tuning Akamai WAF rules, supporting security incidents, and reviewing policies to strengthen our web app defenses.

You will collaborate with multi-national teams and drive best practices in security operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on Akamai WAF/Kona Site Defender experience, a solid understanding of OWASP Top 10, and strong communication

Qualifications

• 6–15 years of IT experience.
• Hands-on Akamai WAF/Kona Site Defender experience.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10, DDoS mitigation, and bot management.
• Experience tuning WAF rules and managing false positives.
• Incident response experience and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune, and maintain WAF rules and policies using Akamai.
• Participate in security incident handling, investigation, and resolution for web app threats.
• Review WAF configurations, security policies, and web app security posture.
• Identify and analyze attack patterns, anomalies, and vulnerabilities targeting web apps.
• Provide day-to-day support to the security team with best practices in web app security.
