Job summary

SIMHATEL in India is seeking a Senior NDT Inspector to lead the NDT capability and embed it into robotic platforms for automated, AI-assisted inspection of power grids, towers, bridges, and pipelines.

You will develop procedures, validate ML-based defect detection with AI teams, and oversee field inspections while mentoring juniors in a fast-paced engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of hands-on NDT experience, with 1–2 years in a lead role.
• Hands-on expertise with listed NDT methods and equipment.
• Experience writing and validating NDT procedures for new or unconventional applications.
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
• Bonus: familiarity with robotics, automation, or AI/ML-based inspection systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and approve NDT procedures for robotic sensor payloads.
• Partner with AI/Automation teams to validate and calibrate ML‑based defect detection.
• Lead NDT, structural audits, and RCC health monitoring across infrastructure assets.
• Identify structural defects, run load tests, map distress, and recommend repair solutions.
• Oversee quality inspection, rehabilitation planning, and on-site execution.
• Train and mentor junior inspectors.

We're looking for a Senior NDT Inspector to lead our NDT capability and help embed it directly into robotic platforms, enabling automated, AI‑assisted inspection of power grids, transmission towers, bridges, railways, pipelines, and other large‑scale infrastructure.

What you'll do:

Develop and approve NDT procedures for robotic sensor payloads and non‑traditional inspection setups

Partner with our AI/Automation teams to validate and calibrate ML‑based defect detection

Lead NDT, structural audits, and RCC health monitoring across infrastructure assets

Identify structural defects, run load tests, map distress, and recommend repair solutions

Oversee quality inspection, rehabilitation planning, and on‑site execution

Train and mentor junior inspectors

What you bring:

Hands‑on expertise with Rebound Hammer, UPV, Cover Meter/Profoscope, Half‑Cell Potential Meter, GPR, Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges, Pile Integrity/Plate Load Testing

Experience writing and validating NDT procedures for new or unconventional applications

Strong technical writing and reporting skills

Bonus: familiarity with robotics, automation, or AI/ML‑based inspection systems (drones, crawlers, mobile inspection units)
