Job summary

Bureau Veritas do Brasil is seeking an NDT Engineer to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and semi-destructive testing (SDT) on concrete structures, pipelines and related components, following established procedures and NABL/QA standards.

The candidate should hold BE/B.Tech in Civil with 4–5 years of relevant experience, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and be able to prepare measurements, write reports, maintain documentation, and ensure HSE compliance.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 4–5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of NDT/SDT and construction materials desirable.
• Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT tests as per procedure.
• Perform Semi Destructive Testing (SDT).
• Conduct load tests on structural members/slabs.
• Distress mapping in buildings.
• Evaluate construction quality through NDT/SDT.
• Maintenance of standard reference materials and records.
• Review and update work instructions.
• Carry out internal calibration under guidance of Technical manager.
• Preparation of Measurement of uncertainty document with the help of Technical Manager
• Maintain the documentation required as per NABL criteria.
• Ensure implementation of QMS in the area of responsibility corporate standards (e.g. Code of Ethics, BV Values, corporate identity, policies, procedures)

NDT Engineer

Purpose of Position

• The job incumbent is responsible for performing of NDT & SDT for various constructions as per procedure laid down.

Major Responsibilities

• Conducting NDT Tests as per the procedure laid down
• Conducting Semi Destructive Test (SDT)
• Conducting Load test on structural members/slab
• Distress mapping in buildings.
• Evaluation of quality of construction through NDT & SDT.
• Maintenance of standard reference materials and records.
• Review and update work instructions from time to time
• Carry out internal calibration under guidance of Technical manager.

• Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.
• To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
• To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.
• Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
• Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects

Qualification and Experience

General:

• Graduate Engineer BE/ B. Tech (Civil) with minimum 4 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Technical:

• Knowledge of NDT / SDT & construction chemicals and strengthening materials along with experience in Restoration of structures of QA/QC will be desirable.
