Job summary

TAAL Tech in Bengaluru is seeking a Lead Engineer- Instrumentation & Control to guide instrumentation activities across FEED, basic design, detailed engineering, and commissioning phases. You will mentor engineers, review vendor drawings, and ensure alignment with project requirements, while coordinating interfaces with multiple disciplines.

The role demands leadership, strong client-facing communication, and hands-on experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA and related tools.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech degree required.
• 12+ years of instrumentation engineering experience.
• Experience leading instrumentation projects across FEED to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation activities across FEED, basic design, detailed engineering, and commissioning support.
• Mentor a team of instrumentation engineers and designers.
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and documents for compliance with project needs.
• Coordinate interfaces with Process, Electrical, Piping, Mechanical, and Civil disciplines.
• Lead site surveys and commissioning support as needed.

Roles & Responsibility:

• Lead instrumentation engineering activities across all project phases FEED, basic design, detailed engineering, and commissioning support.
• 1015 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with at least 35 years in a lead role.
• Familiarity with international standards (ISA, IEC, ANSI, ATEX, SIL, API).
• Experience with instrumentation engineering tools/software (SPI/INtools, SmartPlant, AutoCAD, Aveva, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA/ESD/F&G).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects (small task-based and large-scale) simultaneously.
• Coordinate with Process, Electrical, Piping, Mechanical, and Civil/Structural disciplines for interface requirements.
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project needs.
• Mentor and guide a team of instrumentation engineers and designers.
• Lead site surveys, technical clarifications, and support installation/commissioning activities as needed.
• Plan, allocate, and manage instrumentation resources for task-based projects and large EPC assignments.
