Job summary

Adtran, Inc. in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Test Engineer - Network Protocol & Automation Testing with deep experience in telecom product testing, automation framework development, and release qualification.

You will design and maintain Python-based automation, validate Layer 2/3 protocols, test NMS/EMS interfaces, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, with emphasis on scalable testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in telecom, networking, or broadband testing.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols and validation methodologies.
• Proven experience in test automation framework development and Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with NMS/EMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, Robot Framework, Selenium, and Shell Scripting.
• Perform manual and automated testing of telecom, networking, broadband, NMS, and EMS products.
• Validate networking protocols including TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, PPPoE, LACP, IGMP, and TR-069.
• Test device management interfaces and protocols such as CLI, SNMP, NETCONF, and REST APIs.
• Execute and automate functional, integration, interoperability, regression, performance, load, scalability, and stability testing.
• Support CI/CD-driven testing and release qualification using Jenkins, Git, and related tools.
• Work with broadband technologies including DSL, VDSL, GPON, XGS-PON, OLT, ONT, and G.fast.
• Investigate customer issues, perform root-cause analysis, validate fixes, and ensure product quality.
• Utilize network analysis and traffic-generation tools such as Wireshark, Spirent, and IXIA.

About the Role

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in test automation framework development and Python-based scripting.
• Hands‑on experience with NMS/EMS platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Experience working in Agile and CI/CD environments.
• Exposure to virtualization and cloud-based test environments is a plus.
