Job summary

Adtran is seeking a Senior Test Engineer - Network Protocol & Automation Testing in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will drive automation using Python and PyTest, test Layer 2/3 networks, and validate NMS/EMS platforms within CI/CD environments.

You will work with broadband technologies and perform extensive end-to-end testing across TCP/IP, VLAN, PPPoE, and related protocols. The role requires hands-on experience with automation frameworks, SNMP/NETCONF/REST APIs, and tools like

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in telecom, networking, or broadband product testing.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols and validation methods.
• Proven experience in test automation framework development and Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with NMS/EMS platforms and Agile/CI/CD environments.
• Exposure to virtualization and cloud-based test environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, Robot Framework, Selenium, and Shell scripting.
• Perform manual and automated testing of telecom, networking, broadband, NMS, and EMS products.
• Validate networking protocols: TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, PPPoE, IGMP, LACP, TR-069.
• Test device management interfaces and protocols: CLI, SNMP, NETCONF, REST APIs.
• Execute and automate functional, integration, interoperability, regression, performance, load, and stability testing.
• Support CI/CD-driven testing and release qualification using Jenkins, Git, and related tools.
• Work with broadband tech: DSL, VDSL, GPON, XGS-PON, OLT, ONT, G.fast.
• Investigate customer issues, perform root-cause analysis, validate fixes, ensure quality.
• Utilize network analysis and traffic-generation tools: Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer - Network Protocol & Automation Testing with experience in telecom and broadband product testing, automation framework development, and release qualification. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python automation, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols, NMS/EMS platforms, CI/CD environments, and telecom access technologies.

What We're Looking For

5-10 years of experience in telecom, networking, or broadband product testing. Strong understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols and network validation methodologies. Proven experience in test automation framework development and Python-based scripting. Hands-on experience with NMS/EMS platforms. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in Agile and CI/CD environments. Exposure to virtualization and cloud-based test environments is a plus.
