Senior Lead Engineer – The role sits within the Property Data Falcon team in PropTrack. The purpose of the Property Data Falcon team is to manage and enhance the core property data services. This includes the Property Data API Suite, comprising the property data aggregation API (PDAPI), and market insights API (MIAPI). The squad is responsible for the smooth deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of these APIs, as well as enhancing API observability, logging, and monitoring. They handle incident management and work with stakeholders to maintain service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring the reliability of the property data services. Additionally, the Falcon squad performs low-complexity data processing and transformation tasks, and exercises due diligence in verifying the data received as part of the data portfolio.
- Writing, testing and documenting code according to REA Engineering standards and practices
- Leading or significantly contributing to initiatives with strategic focus and value
- Solving deep, complex technical problems in ways that enable other team members to learn and extend
- Supporting the Engineering Manager in setting the technical direction
- Providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team
- Supporting and driving continuous improvement of our production systems and being an advocate for the overall health of our systems
- Working with stakeholders to design high quality solutions that meet the needs of our users, including vendor platforms
- Advanced skills in designing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users.
- Advanced skills in developing long-term system architecture strategies.
- Experience with modern software development techniques (e.g. functional programming, microservice architecture, test-driven development and CI/CD)
- Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
- Able to understand business, customer and consumer needs to provide appropriate data solutions.
- Able to mentor other engineers in a collaborative agile team environment.
- Someone passionate about data and the latest data technologies.
- Good awareness of TDD, CI/CD approaches and tools.
- Well-versed in SQL and Python
- Experience working with databases, data platform, and DBT (Data Build Tool).
- Experience with BigQuery.
- Proficient with Typescript.
- Experience AWS, Google Cloud (Apigee) and GraphQL.
