Responsibilities

• Active participation in defining a clear technology strategy for your area through collaboration with Architects, Directors of Engineering, and Engineering Managers.
• Partner with Engineering Managers to ensure that technical solutions are delivered in alignment with the strategy.
• Develop and drive actionable plans to improve the health of systems in your area.
• Promote exploration of emerging technologies and innovative practices to maintain REA’s technology strength.
• Design high-quality, user-centric, cross-squad solutions in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Foster a vibrant and connected internal technology community through engagement and knowledge sharing.
• Align technical strategies with the Head of Engineering, other Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, Architect and Product Managers to influence squad/tribe direction.
• Demonstrate ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority; strong track record of coaching and mentoring engineers.
• Advocate for the right and ethical use of AI to further business needs and enable process optimisation.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
