Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a senior chemical engineer with extensive experience in refineries and petrochemical units to drive process optimization and energy efficiency. You will work with SeeQ/PI/Hysys to model operations, analyze data, and support client projects.

The role requires strong analytical skills, solid documentation, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Total work experience of at least 12 years.
  • At least 6 years in technical services.
  • Experience in one or more core process units (FCCU, Delayed Coker, Alkylation, Hydrocracker, CDU/VDU, NHT).

Responsibilities

  • Utilize analytical tools (process simulation, data analytics) to uncover insights, troubleshoot issues, recommend improvements, and drive optimization opportunities.
  • Support initiatives focused on simulation, safety relief, HMB updates, energy efficiency, yield improvement, cost reduction, and sustainability.
  • Maintain detailed process simulation models to evaluate operating scenarios.
  • Perform energy utilization analysis, material balance assessments, benchmarking and identification of unit improvement opportunities.
  • Understand technical summaries, data sheets, and engineering documentation as per workflow requirements; participate in review meetings and provide client support.

Work Experience
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of refinery and petro-chemical units
  • Experience in working with process monitoring tools, acquisition from data historians, and process modeling software such as SeeQ, PI, Hysys etc.
  • Experience in performing analytical calculations
  • Ability to interpret process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, HMB, process datasheets and equipment design documents.
  • Awareness of process safety management concepts and principles such as Process Hazard Analysis, Integrity Operating Windows etc.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong data discipline.
  • Team-oriented with good coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision while delivering high-quality output.
Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of total work experience
  • Minimum 6 years experience in technical services
  • Experience in one (or more) of the units is mandatory - FCCU, Delayed Coker, Alkylation, Hydrocracker, CDU/VDU, NHT - Isomerization, Hydroprocessing, Aromatics, Polymers, Olefins.
