KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) in Chennai seeks a Senior Lead Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for oil & gas, power and renewables projects. The role involves FEED/design execution, equipment procurement, and producing detailed drawings for facilities.

You will lead teams, mentor engineers, and develop estimates and schedules while applying best practices and local standards. Strong communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • 10+ years of related experience; average experience of 20+ years.
  • Hands-on experience in Oil & Gas / Industrial projects.
  • Develop power distribution schemes and SLDs for large industrial projects.
  • Expert knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large engineering teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Develop and review project scope, schedule baselines and controls.
  • Prepare Material Requisitions, review vendor drawings, attending FAT for major electrical equipment.
  • Perform complex electrical calculations including power system studies.
  • Communicate effectively with management, clients, vendors and contractors.

Job description

Title: Senior Lead Electrical Engineer

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets. As part of the electrical engineering team you will be involved in the design of electrical systems for the oil and gas and/or power including renewable energies industries. This may be a conceptual study or front-end engineering design (FEED) or a design execution involving, the procurement of all equipment and detailed drawings for the construction and commissioning of an entire facility.

Responsibilities

Act as a leader in applying Cost Competitive Execution techniques and develop the most cost- effective total project solution for the discipline engineering work Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out Manage and lead large teams Act as mentors for young and middle level engineers and lead / senior designers Develop and deliver technical training on various engineering topics Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts Performance management of project / department personnel Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts Develop and review specifications, including design criteria Prepare Material Requisition, perform offer evaluation, TBE, vendor drawing review, attending FAT for all major electrical equipment / packages Ability to perform / review complex engineering calculations including Power System Studies using ETAP/SKM Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree regular in Electrical & Electronics Engineering 10 years of related experience, with average experience of 20+ years Hands on experience in Oil & Gas / Industrial projects Develop overall power distribution scheme and SLDs for large industrial projects Expert knowledge of electrical equipment like MV/LV Switchgears, transformers, UPS etc. Advance level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications specifically: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
