Job summary

Principal Global Services in Pune seeks a Senior Lead Analyst - Accounting to drive FP&A analytics and reporting improvements. You will design KPI dashboards, automate recurring reports, and validate data from multiple sources while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will forecast, analyze variances, and prepare leadership-ready insights. The role requires strong data skills, financial knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced BFSI environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or professional degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• CA or MBA Finance preferred.
• 6–10 years of experience in analytics, reporting, BFSI industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support FP&A team in process redesign, reporting improvements, and system enhancements.
• Design leadership-friendly visualizations highlighting KPIs and trends.
• Automate reports using Power BI, Power Query, and other tools.
• Collect, clean, validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy.
• Build data links, data models, and maintain reporting datasets for dashboards.
• Forecasting, actuals reporting, and variance reviews.
• Prepare insights and presentations for leadership.
• Document processes, data flows, and dashboard refresh cycles.
• Identify trends, outliers, and data inconsistencies.

Responsibilities

Senior Lead Analyst - Accounting

Exp - 8 - 11 years

Shift Timings - 1.30 PM - 10.30 PM

• Support the SCBU FP&A team in process redesign, reporting improvements, and system enhancements to align with evolving business requirements.
• Design intuitive, leadership-friendly visualizations that highlight KPIs, financial trends, and business drivers.
• Automate manual reports and recurring processes using Power BI, Power Query, and other analytical tools to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
• Collect, clean, aggregate, and validate data from multiple SCBUs and enterprise systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting.
• Establish and maintain data links between different sources, building data models, and maintaining reporting datasets to support end-to-end dashboard operations. (Power BI datasets, Oracle Essbase/ Peoplesoft, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to create a seamless reporting ecosystem.
• Support forecasting, actuals reporting, and value analysis by preparing data inputs and performing first-level variance reviews.
• Provide initial analytical support for performance metrics, and operational KPIs, highlighting anomalies and key insights.
• Assist in documenting processes, data flows, and dashboard refresh cycles.
• Highlight trends, outliers, and data inconsistencies.
• Work collaboratively with SCBU FP&A teams and cross-BU finance partners to share best practices and ensure alignment of data and reporting standards.
• Gain a strong understanding of financial data structures, systems, and reporting tools used within the organization.
• Manage assigned deliverables independently, including prioritizing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality outputs.
• Prepare clear, visually effective presentations and insights for leadership consumption.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Master's degree / Professional Degree / Relevant Industry Certification
• Preferably Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance
• 6-10 years' of relevant experience in handling complex datasets, analytics, reporting. (preferably in BFSI Industry, either in GCC / service provider environment)

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Oracle Essbase/ Peoplesoft, Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query), PowerPoint.
• Comfort working with large datasets and connecting to varied data sources.
• Basic understanding of financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet).
• Experience with data cleansing, validation, and transformation.
• Exposure to SQL or other database/querying tools
