Job summary

American Express is seeking a Senior Lead Analyst for GCS Control Management Specialized Operational Risk to embed control discipline into daily operations. You will work with multiple partners across functions and geographies to ensure accurate, actionable risk reporting and governance.

The role focuses on data preparation, dashboard maintenance (RPR, Tableau), and executive reporting while driving process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, risk management, analytics, engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in data analytics, BI, reporting, automation, operational risk, compliance, audit or related analytical function.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Risk Performance Rating (RPR) dashboards and reports.
• Perform data preparation, validation and reconciliation for reporting accuracy.
• Maintain Tableau dashboards, scorecards and executive reporting views.
• Execute data quality checks across reporting datasets and investigate anomalies.
• Prepare concise reporting materials and presentations for business stakeholders and executives.
• Collaborate with metric owners and control management partners to validate data and outputs.
• Support stakeholder inquiries and reporting requirements and contribute to process improvements.

GCS (Global Commercial Services) Control Management (Specialized OR): The objective of the GCS Control Management Specialized Operational Risk (OR) team is to provide subject matter expertise on specific Operational Risk topics to ensure the BU is equipped with in-depth knowledge of risk-stripes to manage and mitigate these risks effectively; supports the BU with expert guidance for topical Operational Risk intelligence.

GCS Control Management Specialized Operational Risk (OR) is looking for a Senior Lead Analyst focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Risk Performance Rating (RPR) Program
• Support the production, maintenance, and enhancement of Risk Performance Rating (RPR) dashboards.
• Perform data preparation, validation, and reconciliation activities to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Maintain Tableau dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting views.
• Data Quality & Controls
• Execute data quality checks and validation procedures across reporting datasets.
• Investigate data anomalies and support issue resolution activities.
• Reporting & Communication
• Prepare clear, concise reporting materials and presentations for business stakeholders.
• Contribute to executive-ready reporting through accurate and actionable analysis.
• Stakeholder Partnership
• Collaborate with metric owners, SMEs, and Control Management partners to validate data and reporting outputs.
• Support stakeholder inquiries and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting best practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Risk Management, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Reporting, Automation, Operational Risk, Compliance, Audit, or a related analytical function.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Shift Timings: 1 PM-9 PM OR 3 PM-11 PM (As per business requirements)

Technical Skills
