Job summary

RTX India Private Limited, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a Principal Specialist to design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. You will work on REST APIs, integrate services, and ensure performance and security in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on Java experience, with strong knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and modern DevOps practices. Collaboration with Angular teams and cross-functional partners is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field with 5+ years (Masters: 5+ years) of hands-on Java development experience.
• Proficient in Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, REST APIs, and Microservices.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and SQL databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL/SQL Server).
• Strong unit testing with JUnit/Mockito and code quality practices (SOLID, design patterns).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud exposure is preferred.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with focus on performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, external system integrations, and enterprise application services.
• Build backend components using Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, SQL databases, and ORM frameworks.
• Implement coding best practices including SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code, code reviews, and unit testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, perform root cause analysis, debugging, and production support.
• Work with Angular teams for API integration and end-to-end application delivery.
• Design and maintain technical documentation including API specifications, system design, configurations, and deployment details.
• Participate in Agile activities including sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and continuous improvement.
