Job summary

CARD91 in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Backend Developer (Java) to design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies. You will work in a hands-on team of 12 engineers focused on issuing and processing systems.

You should be proficient in SQL/NoSQL, microservices, and cloud basics (AWS), with a proactive, collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of Java experience.
• Must have used agentic AI for development and testing
• Must have strong programming knowledge in java 8 and above
• Must have experience in software application development using Java, Spring and Hibernate. Experience in Spring Boot, Micro services is a plus.
• Must have experience with SQL (postgres , mysql) and NoSQL technologies (cassandra,redis).
• Write well designed, testable, efficient , secure code ideally following a test‑driven approach and ensure designs are in compliance with specification
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structure and design patterns.
• Sound understanding of concepts of Restful services.
• Proactive attitude on identifying problems and providing solutions.
• Understanding of Cloud services(AWS) is a plus Should be able to convert a functional requirement into a technical solution and specifications
• Team player and ability to work with different multicultural teams.
• Strong analytical skills, with a penchant for solving complex programming problems is appreciated
• Should be a quick learner.
• Managing project timelines and tasks along with agile development methodology.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

About CARD91

Position: Backend Developer - Java

Java is used to run our main issuance and processing system. This system is also in charge of the user experience for card issuance and management. Our services are built using the core Java as well as the Spring Boot framework. This also includes event driven architecture understanding - using Kafka streams.

The backend team for the tech stack will be a group of 12 engineers with a big job to do: bring the various payments related products to life. It will be a hands‑on position in which each team member enjoys producing high‑quality code and benefits from each others experience.
