Job summary

• Manage a portfolio of internal innovation initiatives designed to derisk, mature and demonstrate early-stage disruptive technologies within and across RTX’s business units.
• Run solicitation, stage-gate evaluations and project execution processes for the innovation initiatives effectively.
• Establish clear integration or spin-out roadmaps driving adoption with business units.
• Lead resource planning, budget management and maintain ideation platforms and other internal tools for the portfolio.
• Track and quantify pipeline performance translating innovation outcomes into clear, executive-level business value and strategic impact.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, finance, communications and other functions to drive rollout of innovation initiatives.
• Bridge internal R&D priorities with external startup and university ecosystems.

Overview: What You Will Do

• Manage a portfolio of internal innovation initiatives designed to derisk, mature and demonstrate early-stage disruptive technologies within and across RTX’s business units
• Run the rhythm of solicitation, stage-gate evaluations and project execution processes for the innovation initiatives effectively
• Establish clear integration or spin-out roadmaps driving adoption with business units
• Lead resource planning, budget management and maintain ideation platforms and other internal tools for the portfolio
• Track and quantify pipeline performance translating innovation outcomes into clear, executive-level business value and strategic impact
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, finance, communications and other functions as required to drive the seamless rollout of innovation initiatives
• Partner with peers on the Open Innovation team as needed to bridge internal R&D priorities with external startup and university ecosystems

Qualifications You Must Have

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Materials or any other engineering discipline
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering, technology development, innovation program management, founder’s office or other high-growth environments
• Hands-on experience with technology development, technology maturation frameworks, stage-gate reviews and project management
• Excellent executive communication skills with experience building business cases for senior stakeholders

Qualifications We Prefer

• Broad technical understanding of aerospace systems, subsystems, and emerging aviation technologies
• Strong bias for action and a self-starter mindset, with the drive to scale initiatives from 1- to-100 with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to navigate high ambiguity by applying structured, first-principles problem-solving
