Job summary

SITA is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Borders Infrastructure / Platform team in Bengaluru. You will help shape the underlying infrastructure of our industry-leading products and automate the software lifecycle.

Leverage Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible, and Kubernetes to own deployments and support Dev/Test/Prod environments. Collaborate with Delivery leads, Developers and Testers to deliver high-impact infrastructure features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a DevOps role.
• Experience troubleshooting Java applications.
• RHEL Linux or equivalent.
• Know about Ansible and Kubernetes.
• Understand Microsoft Azure Stack.
• Dev/Test/Prod environment support and automation.
• Experience in Linux administration.

Responsibilities

• Utilise tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Ansible to automate the software development lifecycle.
• Own end-to-end deployment of a product and ensure it is operationally ready.
• Review requirements to help define and prioritise new features for infrastructure and deployment.
• Participate in Scrum to plan, prioritise, and estimate work.
• Troubleshoot issues with pipelines, deployment code, and environment configuration.
• Install, configure, and manage cloud-based and on-premises apps.
• Contribute to DevOps pipeline definitions and reviews.
• Document new features to encourage adoption by platform consumers.
• Collaborate with your scrum team and other company-wide teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Utilise a diverse set of tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Ansible to automate the software development lifecycle.
• Own end-to-end deployment of a product and make sure the product is operationally ready.
• Review requirements from various product lines to help the product owner define and prioritise new features which are needed for infrastructure and deployment.
• Participate in Scrum meetings to plan, prioritise, and estimate work.
• Work with Delivery leads, Developers and Testers to troubleshoot specific issues, including recreating pipelines or deployment code, validating environment configuration, etc.
• Install, configure, and manage both cloud-based and on-premises applications.
• Contribute to definition and implementation of DevOps pipelines.
• Participate in reviews of everything from low-level code to sprint performance or definition of new features.
• Document new features using agreed standards to encourage adoption with platform consumers.
• Collaborate with colleagues in your scrum team and with other teams on companywide initiatives and innovation.

Qualifications

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a DevOps role.
• Have previous experience in troubleshooting Java applications.
• RHEL Linux or Equivalent.
• Must know about Ansible and Kubernetes
• Should understand Microsoft Azure Stack
• Dev/Test/Prod Environment support and Automation
• Experience in Linux administration

NICE-TO-HAVE:

• Familiarity with MongoDB and Elasticsearch for effective data management.
• Kubernetes Certified
• Azure Certified
• Understanding of Kafka and LDAP.
• Knowledge of Terraform.
• Concept of Agile, HA, Resiliency, Scalability.
• ITIL, Operational requirements and Support.
