Job summary
SITA is seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications. The role combines hands-on coding with technical leadership across Java and .NET ecosystems, microservices, APIs, and DevOps.
You will mentor engineering teams, drive architectural decisions, ensure security and performance, and collaborate with product owners in an Agile environment. Experience in Azure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and distributed systems is valued.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of software development experience.
- At least 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead developer role.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale apps with .NET or Java.
- Strong experience with cloud-native architectures and DevOps.
- Experience in global Agile development teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Lead Software Developer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, cloud‑native enterprise applications. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive software delivery using modern development practices.
The role requires deep expertise in the Java ecosystem and / or Microsoft .NET ecosystem, combined with experience in cloud/on‑prem technologies, microservices, event‑driven architectures, APIs, DevOps, and Agile delivery.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and backend services using Either or Both: .NET: C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs; Java: Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs.
- Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs that are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
- Works with portfolio architect for driving high-level architectural discussions and alignment of technical guiderails.
- Develop solutions using microservices, domain-driven design, and event-driven architectures.
- Integrate enterprise systems and third‑party services through API‑led connectivity patterns.
- Support end-to-end feature delivery across UI, API, middleware, and database layers.
- Lead development teams through technical guidance, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and ensures adherence to coding standards, security policies, and quality requirements.
- Mentor and coach engineers build technical excellence across the team.
- Drive adoption of reusable frameworks, patterns, and modern development methodologies.
- Work with Infrastructure team for design reviews and best practices
- Design and deploy applications on cloud platforms using Azure services.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
- Design and implement asynchronous and event-driven solutions using messaging technologies.
- Enable real‑time and near real‑time communication between distributed services.
- Contribute to service reliability, resiliency, observability, and monitoring.
- Creates and manages security documents (Threat Model) and collaborates with Security experts
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Azure AD).
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and secure coding practices.
- Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, and database tuning.
- Design systems for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering Managers, and relevant stakeholders to deliver business value.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues related to distributed systems, APIs, and integrations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

- Geospatial technologies (eg. GeoJSON, H3, Geofencing)
- Observability tools (App Insights, Grafana, ELK, Prometheus)
- AI-assisted development tools and developer productivity platforms
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
