Job summary

Care Adhd is seeking a Senior IT Operations Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru. The role bridges application support and cloud infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft 365 and AWS cloud.

You will maintain platform reliability, support business-critical apps, and drive improvements across the digital estate. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and AWS, plus strong networking and scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT Operations, Systems Administration, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience across E3/E5.
• Hands-on with Entra ID, Intune, and Defender security stack.
• Practical experience with AWS services in production environments.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls).
• Ability to read/write scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving and incident resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimise the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Manage and configure Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and Identity Governance.
• Operate and tune Microsoft Defender suite (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Office 365).
• Administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, including policy deployment and device enrolment across Windows, iOS, and Android.
• Manage Microsoft Purview for data classification, DLP policies, retention labels, and compliance reporting.
• Monitor and respond to alerts within Microsoft Sentinel, investigating incidents and tuning analytics rules.
• Support and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Assist in managing cloud costs and pursue cost-optimisation strategies.
• Work within an IaC approach using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and assist development teams with deployments and environments.
• Ensure cloud security posture per AWS Well‑Architected Framework and CIS benchmarks.
• Participate in DR/BCP activities including RTO/RPO validation and backups.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 & Collaboration

• Administer and optimise the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Manage and configure Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Identity Governance.
• Operate and tune Microsoft Defender suite (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Office 365).
• Administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, including policy deployment, compliance baselines, and device enrolment across Windows, iOS, and Android.
• Manage Microsoft Purview for data classification, DLP policies, retention labels, and compliance reporting.
• Monitor and respond to alerts within Microsoft Sentinel, investigating incidents and tuning analytics rules.

AWS Cloud Infrastructure

• Support and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Assist in managing cloud costs through tagging strategies, Reserved Instance planning, and resource rightsizing.
• Work within an Infrastructure-as-Code approach using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and assist development teams with application deployment and environment management.
• Ensure cloud security posture is maintained in line with AWS Well‑Architected Framework principles and CIS benchmarks.
• Participate in DR and BCP activities, including RTO/RPO validation and backup verification.

Application Support & Operations

• Provide second and third‑line support for business applications hosted both in M365 and on AWS.
• Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot application issues and manage escalations.
• Monitor application performance and availability, responding proactively to degradation or outages.
• Maintain clear and up‑to‑date documentation for systems, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to change management processes, ensuring changes are tested, documented, and communicated appropriately.

Networking & Security

• Support on‑premises and hybrid networking including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall management.
• Assist in managing security tooling, vulnerability scanning, and patching cadence across endpoints and servers.
• Support user access management in line with least‑privilege and zero‑trust principles.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in an IT Operations, Systems Administration, or Platform Engineering role.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration across the E3/E5 feature set.
• Practical experience with Entra ID, Intune, and the Microsoft Defender security stack.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services in a production environment.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls).
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting business applications in a hybrid or cloud environment.
• Ability to read and write basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation and operational tasks.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a structured approach to incident resolution.
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Desirable

• Microsoft certifications such as MS‑102, SC‑300, AZ‑104, or SC‑200.
• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS SysOps Administrator.
• Experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Familiarity with ITSM tooling (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
