Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Bot & Agent Control Engineering team, focusing on bot threat detection, protection, and control features. You will build scalable software to help customers manage bot traffic and secure the internet for millions of users.

You will work on features from scratch, optimize existing functionality, and collaborate with Level 3 support to troubleshoot complex customer issues.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience and a CS degree.
• 5+ years of JavaScript and Java/Python for web development and API work.
• Strong understanding of JSON and XML data formats.
• Experience with machine learning or data science concepts.
• Ability to design scalable architectures and write clean, well-structured code.

Responsibilities

• Improve bot detection products to keep Akamai ahead in bot protection.
• Implement new features from scratch and optimize existing functionality from design to deployment.
• Collaborate with Level 3 support to troubleshoot complex customer issues and analyze web/mobile data.
• Improve client-side components like JavaScript when needed.

As part of a Bot & Agent Control Engineering team, you will focus on building highly usable, reliable, and scalable software solutions for bot threat detection, protection and control features. Allowing our customers to better manage bot traffic and help improve the internet for millions of people.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Working on projects that improve our bot detection products making Akamai a leader in bot detection
• Implementing new features from scratch. Enhancing existing features and optimize existing functionality, from conception and design through testing and deployment.
• Working with our level 3 support to troubleshooting complex problems or any customer issues.Working on data analysis for web and mobile platforms
• Working on making improvements to client side components like Javascript on need basis

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8+ years of overall SW development experience and relevant degree in Computer Science
• Have 5+ years of experience with Javascript and Java/Python for web development and web API development
• Have a good understanding of data formats such as JSON, XML.
• Have work experience or understanding with Machine learning or Data science
• Be able to design with best possible architectures and write clean well-structured code
