Job summary

A Senior Data Engineer II at Akamai will help architect and migrate enterprise Finance data to Oracle Cloud, configuring Fusion Extracts and FDI pipelines to deliver actionable insights. You will steward data catalogs and drive self-service analytics, serving as the go-to technical advisor for Finance systems.

You will collaborate across Finance, SCM, and HCM, with a focus on observability, data quality, and scalable transformation using Python and PySpark.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, ETL, BI, or enterprise analytics with 3-5 years of Oracle FDI experience.
• Strong hands-on skills in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database, and ODI 12c/14c.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion data extraction using BICC and other Fusion extraction mechanisms for large-volume processing.
• Hands-on expertise in FDI pipelines, semantic-model extensions, and dashboard/reporting enablement.
• Knowledge of Finance (AP, AR, GL, SLA), SCM, and HCM concepts; BI Applications (BIAPPS) preferred.
• Experience implementing logging, monitoring, observability, data-quality validation, reconciliation, and production ETL support.
• Nice-to-have: Oracle AI Data Platform, Python, and PySpark for scalable data transformation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, deployment promotions, release validation, and production-support processes.
• Strong communication skills to explain designs and roadmaps to business stakeholders.

Join our Data Engineering, Analytics & Intelligence team

The Data Engineering, Analytics & Intelligence team is the engine behind our data-driven culture. We partner across the enterprise—from Finance (Accounting, Customer Revenue Operations, Business Finance) to Sales and Marketing to build the robust analytical foundations that power our global operations.

As a Senior Data Engineer II you will be responsible for:

• Partner with Finance leadership across Accounting, Customer Revenue Operations, and Business Finance to architect the migration and integration of systems into Oracle Cloud.
• Configure and manage Oracle Fusion Extracts(BICC/RODS), Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) data loads, semantic models, and dashboards to turn enterprise Finance data into operational intelligence.
• Understand Finance business processes to lead the building and maintaining of an enterprise data catalog and empower self-service analytics.
• Act as the primary go-to expert and technical consultant for process changes and technical roadmaps within Finance systems.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8+ years of overall experience in data engineering, data warehousing, ETL, BI, or enterprise analytics, including 3-5 years of hands-on Oracle FDI experience.
• Have strong hands-on skills in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI 12c/14c).
• Have proven experience with Oracle Fusion data extraction using BICC and/or other supported Fusion extraction mechanisms, including large-volume file processing, full loads, incremental loads, and deletion handling.
• Have hands-on expertise in FDI pipelines, Data Augmentation, semantic-model extensions, subject-area customization, and dashboard/reporting enablement.
• Understand Oracle Fusion functional and data concepts across Finance (AP, AR, GL, SLA), SCM, and HCM; prior BI Applications (BIAPPS) experience is preferred.
• Have experience implementing logging, monitoring, observability, data-quality validation, reconciliation, and operational support for production ETL pipelines.
• Good to have: Experience with Oracle AI Data Platform (AIDP), Python, and PySpark for scalable data transformation, analytics engineering, and modern data-pipeline development.
• Be familiar with automated testing, CI/CD, Git-based version control, deployment promotion, release validation, and production-support processes.
• Be a proactive, curious problem solver with strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical designs and roadmaps to business stakeholders.
