Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior HSE Specialist to join our site-based team in India. You will develop and implement field HSE specifications, coordinate with clients and contractors, and lead investigations and reporting to strengthen safety performance on projects.

The role requires extensive experience in managing HSE activities in construction, strong knowledge of local OHS laws, and a track record of implementing ISO 45001 standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Field HSE specifications and HSSE policies.
• Liaise with clients and contractors; ensure legal compliance and ISO 45001 implementation.
• Review HSEP, ERP, JHA and method statements.
• Encourage near-miss and hazard reporting; participate in incident investigations.
• Identify innovative HSE practices and contribute to risk workshop inputs.
• Provide HSE reporting and site visits to assess risk and effectiveness of systems.
• Guide site teams to ensure HSEMS and contract requirements compliance.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain awareness of HSE at all levels.

The Role

As a Senior HSE Specialist with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Develop and ensure implementation of Field HSE Specification, our HSSE Policy.
• Liaison with client and contractors, conducting meeting, Ensure legal compliance & implementation of ISO 4501 compliance.
• Review of HSEP, ERP, JHA & method statement.
• Encourage Near Miss & Hazard Reporting, Participation in Incident Investigation & Incident review process.
• Identify and encourage innovative HSE practices.
• Risk inputs during risk workshop.
• HSE Reporting.
• Visit work locations and sites to assess the HSE risk and effectiveness of HSE systems in place. This includes conducting regular HSE Observations, HSE talks, training sessions, implementation of HSE measures, promotion of safe work practices and ensuring interest & awareness of HSE is maintained at all levels.
• Thorough knowledge of local OHS laws and ability to pragmatically apply this knowledge in home office and construction sites.
• Extent of Guidance or Control: To guide site team to ensure compliance of HSEMS & contract requirements.
• Impact of Decisions on Results: To provide cost effective solution for site implementation.
• Position Significance Relative to Total Organisation: Site based HSE position.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• B.E./ B.Tech./ BSc (P, C, M)/ Diploma in engineering from recognized Institute and Diploma in Industrial Safety from recognized university. Examination of such course should have been conducted by Technical Education Board EB of respective state or approved university.
• Must have more than 15 years of experience for BE/ B. Tech and 18 years for BSc./Diploma engineers in managing HSE activities in construction industries.
