Job summary

Acumen 360 Consulting & HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to translate customer requirements into design inputs, develop high-level concepts, and lead electrical design for microcontroller-based handheld products.

The role requires expertise in analog/digital circuit design, BOM creation, PCB layout, and validation testing, with strong communication and teamwork across mechanical, software, and manufacturing groups.

Qualifications

• This candidate holds an electronics degree and extensive circuit design exposure.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in electronics product design.
• Proficient in analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, BOMs, layout, and concept validation.
• Strong knowledge of component selection considering tolerances, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, and performing board/system testing and EMI/EMC exposure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system and subsystem design and verification.
• Develop innovative designs meeting performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
• Analyze material/component selection, tolerances, performance, and cost implications.
• Design analog and digital circuits and boards; perform schematic capture and board testing.
• Document data per engineering policies and provide timely updates on significant issues.

Job description

This role will be part of the Electronics development team working on product design and development for Microcontroller based handheld products. In this role, he will be responsible for the translation of customer requirements to design inputs, high-level concept design, electrical design of various systems, development, and testing, manufacturability and serviceability

Qualification & Experience:

• B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech (Electronic and Communication, Electronics)
• 7+ Years of Experience
• Software Tools: i). PCB layout: Altium, PAD, ii). Schematic: Orcad capture, iii). Simulation: pspice, Mat lab, Mathcad
• Demonstrate in-depth, theoretical, and practical knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, BOM creation, PCB layout and simulation, and developing design proof of concept to validate the design.
• Good knowledge of the component selection process considering tolerances, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Experience with the use of lab equipment such as analog and digital oscilloscopes.
• Development and implementation of validation plans for board-level and system testing.
• EMI/EMC compliance design exposure and testing.
• Good analytical problem-solving skills, learning skills, strong in oral, and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience of working with internal and external teams like mechanical, software, manufacturing, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to complete Systems Design, subsystem design, and system verification and validation.
• Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Analyze and validate material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design analog and digital circuits and boards. Do schematic capture and prepare documentation, and do board-level testing.
• Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
• Participate in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.

Desired Competencies

• Experience with ARM controller-based design, audio circuit design, power supply design using linear regulator, LDO, DC-DC converter, battery operated product design which involves battery charging, battery monitoring, and battery life characterization.
• Familiar with testing equipment such as DSO, DMM, logic analyzer, function generator, etc.
• Familiar with circuit simulation tools, like spice tools.
• Ability to think creatively and independently, solve challenging problems, and take initiative.
• Excellent knowledge and experience in using MS office applications especially excel word, and Visio.
• Superb command of the English language and demonstrable ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
