Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced hardware design engineer for automotive and embedded systems. You will design analog/digital/mixed-signal circuits, select components, and develop schematics and PCB layouts to meet customer specs.

You will work from concept through prototype bring-up, perform simulations, validate designs with SPICE/MATLAB, and ensure compliance with industry standards and DFx practices.

Qualifications

  • X+ years of hardware design and product development experience for automotive/industrial/embedded systems.
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, and microcontroller-based design.
  • Experience translating customer requirements into hardware architecture and schematics.
  • Hands-on schematic capture with Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or similar.
  • Expertise in component selection, derating, tolerance analysis, and BOM optimization.
  • Experience with interfaces CAN, LIN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART.
  • Strong power supply design knowledge: AC-DC, DC-DC, LDOs, battery management, protection.
  • PCB stack-up, layout reviews, SI/PI, EMC/EMI, and thermal management.
  • Design calculations, simulations, and validations with SPICE/LTspice/MATLAB.
  • Prototype bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis with lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of DFM/ DFA/ DFT/ DFR.
  • Experience supporting NPI, pilot builds, engineering validation, and ramp-up.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 26262, CISPR, IEC, UL, CE standards.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer requirements into hardware architecture and schematics.
  • Create and review PCB layouts and stack-ups for signal and power integrity.
  • Perform design calculations and simulations to validate性能.

Job description

  • X+ years of experience in Hardware Design and Product Development for automotive, industrial, or embedded electronic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, and microcontroller-based circuit design.
  • Experience in converting customer requirements and system specifications into detailed hardware architecture and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience in schematic capture using tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent EDA tools.
  • Expertise in component selection, derating analysis, tolerance analysis, and BOM optimization.
  • Experience in designing interfaces such as CAN, LIN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, and other communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding of power supply design including AC-DC, DC-DC converters, LDOs, battery management, and protection circuits.
  • Experience in PCB stack-up definition, layout reviews, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI considerations, and thermal management.
  • Ability to perform design calculations, simulations, and validations using tools such as SPICE, LTspice, MATLAB, or equivalent.
  • Experience in prototype bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR).
  • Experience in supporting NPI (New Product Introduction), pilot builds, engineering validation, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 26262, CISPR, IEC, UL, CE, and customer-specific requirements.
