Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain or related field is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 14+ years of professional experience in procurement operations or program management.
  • At least 5 years in procurement processes with hands-on sourcing knowledge.
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (ISM, APICS) preferred.
  • Experience managing procurement programs and leading teams.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Group Manager - Procurement Services based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a complex client procurement program with responsibility for delivery performance, operational governance, client alignment, and continuous improvement. You will serve as a senior point of contact for procurement operations, ensuring services consistently meet contractual expectations and client requirements. The position combines strategic procurement expertise with program leadership, team management, stakeholder engagement, and change management. You will work closely with client stakeholders and delivery teams to resolve operational challenges, implement process improvements, and support high-visibility procurement initiatives. The role also provides scope to apply Source-to-Manage, sourcing, RFX, and eSourcing expertise across evolving client environments. It is well suited to an experienced procurement leader who can balance commercial priorities, operational excellence, and strong client relationships.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the overall delivery of a client procurement program, ensuring operational performance, contractual compliance, service quality, and program objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Lead day-to-day procurement operations, overseeing project queues, delivery metrics, service levels, and operational priorities.
  • Partner with Team Leads to allocate work, resolve operational issues, improve processes, and develop practical templates, job aids, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the rollout of procurement programs, including change management initiatives, communication plans, process transitions, and business process improvements.
  • Lead client operations discussions, strategic projects, and high-visibility procurement initiatives, ensuring strong alignment between client expectations and service delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships, acting as a trusted procurement partner and senior escalation point for sensitive or complex issues.
  • Ensure client-specific processes, exceptions, terminology, systems, requirements, and knowledge assets are clearly documented and maintained.
  • Provide leadership to delivery teams across process management, quality, performance, training, capability development, and capacity planning.
  • Provide management with informed input on team performance, recognition, capability requirements, and resource needs.
  • Apply procurement best practices and consultative expertise to solve client challenges and improve sourcing and procurement outcomes.
  • Support Source-to-Manage activities, sourcing methodologies, RFX processes, eSourcing initiatives, and related procurement transformation activities.
  • Analyze operational and procurement data to identify trends, recommend solutions, and implement consistent and scalable processes across programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, process consistency, and client outcomes.
  • Support documentation, training, communication, and knowledge-transfer activities associated with new initiatives and process changes.
  • Manage escalations effectively, using sound judgment and decision-making skills to resolve issues while protecting client relationships and service commitments.
  • Contribute to program-level financial management and demonstrate a strong understanding of P&L considerations within a client services environment.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 14+ years of professional experience across procurement operations, program management, consulting, or related client-service environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement processes, with strong practical knowledge of sourcing and procurement operations.
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain, such as ISM, APICS, or an equivalent qualification, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing procurement programs and leading operational delivery against defined service levels and contractual requirements.
  • Prior management experience leading teams of up to 10 or more people at project or program level.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Source-to-Manage, sourcing methodologies, RFX, eSourcing, procurement transformation, change management, and communications.
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply client-specific processes, systems, terminology, business requirements, and operational models.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret procurement and operational data, identify issues, and develop practical recommendations.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities, particularly in client-facing and senior-level interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of program-level financial and P&L considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through operational change, process improvements, new program rollouts, and evolving client requirements.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to handle escalations and sensitive client situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and capable of quickly learning new client environments while maintaining consistent service delivery.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop team capabilities, foster accountability, and promote continuous improvement.
