Job summary

Lenskart in Gurgaon is seeking an Assistant Manager Procurement to lead end-to-end purchasing, supplier relationships, and cost optimization to ensure timely availability of goods and services.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑growing environment, with responsibility for vendor evaluation, spend tracking, and process improvement. Experience with ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain.
  • Strong negotiation, and cost optimization skills, with ability to manage supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with business requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, vendor evaluation, negotiations, purchase orders, and delivery follow-ups.
  • Identify new suppliers and evaluate existing suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, service levels, and reliability.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify competitive pricing and sourcing opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Track supplier performance against timelines, quality standards, commercials, and service levels.
  • Drive resolution of supplier-related issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Support periodic supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and terms.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and process improvements.
  • Monitor procurement spends and identify deviations from budgets or agreed terms.
  • Work with business, planning, and operations teams to understand demand and ensure timely material availability.
  • Support inventory planning to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize overstocking and working capital impact.
  • Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery as per business requirements.
  • Ensure procurement activities are compliant with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, quotations, and supplier records.
  • Prepare regular MIS and reports covering procurement spends, supplier performance, cost savings, and other metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and improve efficiency.

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Procurement to join our Procurement team in Gurgaon. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of goods and services.

The ideal candidate should have strong procurement fundamentals, excellent negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing
  • Support the development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with business requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, vendor evaluation, negotiations, purchase orders, and delivery follow-ups.

Inventory & Supply Planning
  • Work closely with business, planning, and operations teams to understand demand and ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Support inventory planning to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize overstocking, shortages, and working capital impact.
  • Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery as per business requirements.

Process, Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure procurement activities are compliant with company policies, processes, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, quotations, and supplier records.
  • Prepare regular MIS and reports covering procurement spends, supplier performance, cost savings, and other key metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and improve operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain.
  • Strong experience in vendor management, sourcing, commercial negotiations, and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with data and procurement metrics.
  • Good understanding of procurement processes, purchase orders, contracts, and supplier management.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office; experience with ERP/procurement systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
