Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Pune with 10–15 years of backend experience. You will design and implement Golang microservices, build scalable distributed systems, and develop REST/gRPC APIs for global payment platforms.

You will work in a hybrid setup, leveraging AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to architectural decisions. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 10–15 years of backend software development experience with significant backend engineering expertise.
• Expert-level proficiency in Golang and enterprise application development.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, Goroutines, Channels, and Go performance optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Golang for transaction processing systems.
• Architect and build highly available distributed systems capable of large-scale transaction volumes with low latency.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and gRPC services for enterprise integration.
• Build cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services and containerized deployment models.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to define and implement technical solutions.
• Design and optimize microservices architectures focused on resiliency, scalability, and maintainability.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and modern DevOps toolchains.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and Ansible.
• Establish observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting for operational excellence.
• Implement secure coding standards, authentication, and access governance mechanisms.
• Optimize application performance, throughput, and resource utilization.
• Design efficient database access patterns across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and mentor junior engineers.

• Knowledge of caching, performance tuning, database optimization, and scalability techniques.

• Experience supporting production environments and critical business applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance engineering capabilities.
