Job summary

SYSTRA India seeks a Geotechnical Engineer with 5–8 years of metro/railway project experience to lead geotechnical design activities in India. You will guide soil-structure interaction studies and develop foundation and earthworks schemes for complex infrastructure.

Based in Uttar Pradesh, the role involves client coordination, site visits, and mentoring a team of geotechnical engineers to deliver robust, safe design solutions for metro, bridge and tunnel projects.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Civil Engineering and ME/MTech in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Candidate should have 5 to 8 years of experience in Geotechnical design on Metro, Railway and Bridge Projects (minimum 5 years on Metro projects) after ME/MTech.
• Candidate should have hand on experience on soil structure interaction and geotechnical software like Plaxis, Slope/W, RS-2 etc.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical design for Indian/International infrastructure projects.
• Leading a team of Geotech Engineers.
• Interaction/coordination/meetings with internal teams as well as client.
• Site visits as and when required.
• Undertake detailed geotechnical investigations, interpret soil and rock data, and prepare geotechnical baseline reports.
• Design deep and shallow foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, embankments, tunnels, slope stability, ground improvement techniques, and ground treatment solutions.

Context

Systra Indias design business line is the leading design team for metros, highways, special bridges, Urban Planning and water projects in India. The team has designed over 900 kms of viaduct & Bridges along with 43 kms of tunnels and 82 underground stations, 345 Elevated & at-grade Stations, 19 Depots besides 300 plus stations being designed currently. The team has also completed 3,165 km of highways detail design projects and 22,506 km of design/ feasibility projects. The team has also worked on detailed design for Drainage and Utilities, design of WTP and STP etc.

We are also very proud to have designed the first monopile in India for the Mumbai Coastal Road project. We have the distinction of designing the fastest implemented metro project in the country with Lucknow and now have broken the record in Kanpur Metro.
